tape the entire underside of that front lip and you also have protection against the elements!

I'm trying to get my car started to take to the shop to find out how much it's gonna cost to fix, but I'm having the damndest time getting the battery to charge.

My 20 year old battery charger did nothing to it, my little battery jumper got instant drained and my radio blasted for 40 seconds, and I just picked up a new charger that the display is just blinking on and off when I connect it.

LOTS of fun here! :P

Ugh. Gotta go check and see if anything happened. If not I'm gonna try the new charger on her old battery which is still in my garage since i haven't returned it yet for the core charge.

Laziness can be good sometimes and the battery in her now was only used for about a month before the power train started pinging so badly.

This isn't one of our Jeeps but my actual car for the last 9 years. Her name is Emmy and I love her.

Oh, she's a 2010 Infiniti M35x:

I got my car started and in to the garage! Using the old battery after repair/charging it worked, I finally got the new battery charging once I got it out of my car.

Had to clean her out and inflate a tire, gonna take her in for service now that I can. Weird thing I noticed, the weird pinging goes away if I ride the brakes just a little as I drive otherwise it's a huge clank that feels like it's gonna tear part of the bottom out. I've done the brakes on this car at least 4 times so I know them pretty well and everything looks good, but I'm slightly less scared it could be too expensive to repair now even though I don't have a lot to base that on. LOL

Wheel bearing maybe or a loose caliper? Did you drive over a kids bike?

Just tossing ideas out there :bleh:

some of the new smart chargers won't charge if the battery is very low and or still hooked up to the car

pull the cars neg cable off to charge

Thanks and me too! Just swapped her new battery back in after getting it working and charged and I'm getting ready to take her to the shop.

One problem, my wife is cool about picking me up from the shop but she wants to go directly to the Badlands Off-Road Park in Attica, IN about an hour and a half south of me in our 2016 JKUHR with the top off and the half doors on.

I HATE off-roading. <sigh>

You sure do an awful lot of off reading for a guy who hates it so much

I get it. Happy wife happy life :D

:p

Yeah, about that off-roading yesterday:

Water got in the oil, the mechanics there managed to save the engine (hopefully!) by changing the oil and filter 5 times but the clutch is not engaging. Don't know if there's mud wedged in solid or it's fried, won't find out until tomorrow when there regular mechanic comes in.

I was stuck all night in Attica. We had to rent a cabin and buy sweats and t-shirts to wear since we were caked in mud. Couldn't get a tow, couldn't rent a car, ended up calling up my sister for a ride and she came and brought us home.

Very happy to be home, but I f-ing HATE off-roading. We're already a grand in the whole from what they did yesterday and the rental, gonna be at least another grand if it needs a new clutch plus we'll still have to go back and pick her up.

Oh and when we get her back I'll have to pull the seats and all the carpeting and clean them, then clean and dry the interior, then put it all back together. 3 days if I work hard at it.

On the bright side, DAMN is it good to be home! <3

sorry

did the same thing to my 79 k5 blazer when it was 6 month old at the time i got it out of the wash in a hour

i didn't get any water in the engine or automatic transmission or transfer case

but chevy never put the air breathers on the axles differentials so both differentials had a open hole in the top

rear locked up on the way home but both were tosted

chevy tried to get me to pay the 4k to replace both axles but warrantied it in the end

So the depth of the pond is not known beforehand?
I'm assuming you are not the first to go through the water.....is it not prudent to watch someone before you go so you know what you're getting into?
