Ford Lightning

Saw Car and Driver real world tests and basically when you tow with this truck the range halves or even less. Not worth it for towing which sort of defeats the whole point of the truck.

Better to go with traditional F150.

I don’t know much about towing anything. I just posted after seeing a review. All Trucks (they had 3) had their range halved or less when towing. To me it is impractical especially if your idea was to go out camping with it.

Either way, I don’t do this stuff so what do I know. For me these electric vehicles are still not in the “buy” category. The charging alone is painful.

How developed is the charging infrastructure in Dubai?

It’s decent. Most malls have charging spots. Some business buildings are also trying to add a charging system. However, those are still rare. Most people charge at home or in the mall.

Interesting, seems like the F-150 Lightning was the most comfortable going uphill (and had loads of torque to spare while the gasser gave up acceleration at one point). On the downhill it sounded like he was just almost able to one pedal it which is amazing giving how much he was towing. I bet if he wasn't towing a thing he'd be able to one pedal it all the way down. A mountain novice wouldn't have to learn a thing in an EV just drive it as usual!

I can't wait til you get yours Bill and confirm some of this stuff you've been posting in videos.

the dealer said ford had shipped 45k Lightnings so far when i was in

no idea where i'm at in the list ford won't tell them till you are close

I drove next to one of these the other day.
It had a very wierd presence to me.

Aside from the fact that it was clearly a Truck....it almost seemed like the truck was a childs toy, scaled up to full size truck duty.

It was all white so it looked plastic compared to any other F150 ive seen on the roads. And it probably was because all the chromey bits and cladding was covered in various shade of white....the headlights (or at least that DRL strip) looked like it was made of the same stuff as fluorescent light....

We all know you'd put out that night if Bill picked up for a date in his Lightning.
