Ford Lightning

Sounds like they put in a lot of thought into how much regen they could do while towing. Being able to still one pedal it while near the max towing limit is pretty cool.

They should try to do something similar in a really hot area. It's sorta unfair to the gassers who have to try to breathe in the thin air. EV definitely have a high elevation advantage.

Edit: Now I'm curious how water tight the battery/motor system is. If you got volcanos in your mountains, sure you don't care about the ash clogging your air filters but if a clogged gasser is blocking your path you might need to go off road and be up over your hood crossing a stream or something. Also does the average roof top solar panel fit in the bed and if so how many can you stack inside and how many watts is that? You know in case you manage to get to the windward side of the eruption.

I was surprised by how little range it seemed to lose on the lift and tires. Looks much better that way.

Also I ordered some nerf bars for my truck that were supposed to be her Wed. FedEx lost them bitches.

i got to put a bed cap and ladder rack on it not sure it will fit in the carport now without a lift and bigger tiers

It looks great. Need a 6.5 ft bed though. I would love to replace my 2014 F150 with one, but I don't know if it will happen unless I keep my truck 13 years or so. The Rivian is very nice too. My province is a major fail for charging as well. If I were to get a Lightning, there would have to be charging in provincial parks that isn't just a regular plug in at your camp site because where I camp, there are no hookups. There is power all around, just no service to the campsites. No cell service either. Not even 2 hours away from Winnipeg.

yea i wish it had a 6.5 bed also

extended range is the only one to get if it only does 250 miles at 75 MPH

I think it will be down to 190 to 225 in town at phoenix summer temperatures and 700 to 1000 pounds on it

The range is weak for sure. Feel bad for those that ordered the small battery. Good luck going 150 miles.

Typical Ford...

That video just made me want to buy a deiseal. **** an hour charging to save a few bucks. Around town, all day. Road trips suck in EVs.

off peek here is 10.8 cents per kilowatt-hour

that's $14.15 for full charge on the extended range for a home charge over night

better than 100 bucks to fill my Nissan frontier for 320 miles two to three times a week

but for long Road trips i'm keeping the escalade

EV driver logic:
-Just get an electric car/Truck!

Reverse EV driver logic:
-Just drive a smaller car you fool!

can't they can't make enough
i have been on the ford lightning reservation list for 3/4's of a year with 200,000 others total and most likely won't see it for a year or more

2
can't that's one problem it's a work truck and the Nissan frontier is already too small and overloaded and can't pull a trailer with any weight on it

Interesting, you can put more stuff in the bed with the cheaper version, though you'll go far less distance. I can see the cheap versions being useful for urban/suburban contractors that don't go far and save their company a ton of gas, especially if their home base have chargers at more normal rates vs super chargers.

All you need for overnight is a level 2 charger which is very easy to get put in.

well

with the lightning extended range the level 2 charger is two level 2 chargers in one that each charges half the bank of the battery's

so it needs 80 amps but they want a 100 amp breaker and that needs #1 AWG wire for a long run
https://www.wireandcableyourway.com...TFO2oFZ6w9Pt7NdSxS5ic6t696ChJEUhoCUjoQAvD_BwE

and that isn't going to fit in 99.99% of most houses breaker boxes

so a 400 amp solar ready meter combo 5200 TO 5600+ bucks here in AZ

and if you want it to act like a powerwall for the house you need a smart switch and more money

i might but box is about 2500 bucks and they supply the new breakers under 70 amps

if it wasn't for the permits and dealing with the power company and that damn box weights about 125 pounds:nuts:
