After seeing Steve's tear down video, yeah, I'm definitely getting an AIB card.

On a side note, that's a real pretty die.

Yes sadly the PC platform is practically a console with console ports for games. Pretty sad what they did to the PC platform. Consoles are trash and if the PC is not significantly better than A console then the PC is overpriced trash. I feel sorry for all of those PC gamers that bought XBOX beta boards for their PC's and paid for next gen console features they will never use. You act like that's a good thing, you're like "in your face, Microsoft bought another game developer who will ignore PC specific features and find ways to make the game run better on slower hardware that looks worse." AMD won dude, are you mad? No, I'm not mad just pointing out that it sucks that AMD can't compete and continues to sell out the PC to Microsoft and Sony. That's not the future, it's the past 10 years dude. The only reason RDNA 2 is even close to Nvidia is because Microsoft and Sony needed another console that was close to PC performance and they paid AMD the money they needed to make it.

Interesting take on things, because the console over the last 10 years have been evolving into basically a desktop pc where they can have a keyboard added to them, a mouse, and they can be used to surf the web, etc.

Yes, a cheap $500 desktop for the masses. Which is fine, as long as there is competition driving the high end forward. Unfortunately AMD seems content to come in second place by a couple percent regardless of weather they are fighting Intel on 14nm from 2015 or Nvidia on 8nm from 2020. The result is always the same. They seem pretty content where they are. There is no way they are this incompetent on accident. They have somehow managed to drive consoles near PC level of performance while pushing the server market way beyond everything else but PC gaming....nah, they are always late with worse visuals and less features.

Believe me watch to the end it's absolutely hilarious. Acroig here's the real conductor for the choo choo train. He's even got a hoddy with it on. I couldn't stop laughing through the whole 25 minutes it's absolute gold. He also speaks a lot of truth from someone who hyped the 6800XT.

guy hyped everyone up on his choo choo train for months and is now pissed he didn't get one day one

and USA first **** the rest of the world :p

and NV or AMD no consumer can buy one because there are a million reviewers and overclockers now tearing them up and burning them up

Demand is insane for these kinds of technology products.. No one could of planned for a pandemic and an extreme demand for staying home for work and entertainment.

So it's all AMD's fault because they supply the console SOC's. Give me a break Nvidia would replace them in a heart beat if they could. Do you think after Nvidia paid $40bn for Arm they still think gaming is their biggest market going forward? They're hedging their bets and AI and Arm are way above gaming for them now.

So for the majority of gamers you think hardware looks worst on Xbox. On my 50" LG TV I've got HDR which on my XboneX I don't have on my 1440p monitor. TBH it looks great and will be miles better on XSX. HDR on PC monitors is POS  HDR 400 absolutely crap. Need to spend a lot of money to get decent HDR on a monitor ain't gonna happen.

I've been watching a russian reviewer show some problems. Not sure if its game specific right now, or a bigger thing with 6000 RT.

https://youtu.be/fTe0_bdDnCE?t=821

The reflections with RT on, on 6000 cards seem to be missing stuff, that nivida cards have. Furthermore, some surfaces don't have reflection that appear on nvidia RT. All settings here are run the same with newest drivers.

I don't want to get into this argument again so I'd rather just drop it but I don't care that AMD supplies CPU's, GPU's and mobo's to all of the consoles. If Nvidia did it I wouldn't complain either. They need to compete, that is my problem with AMD. I think they are Microsoft and Sony's b!tch. They simply do what they are told and take the money they are given which is enough to make them happy. They let the console guys pay their expenses and trash Intel with it in the server market without giving the PC platform an advantage over their precious console business. With AMD being the sole competition for both the CPU and GPU market they are pretty much the only company that can destroy the PC platform while still making a monstrous profit at the same time. As for HDR, it's a panel technology that is built primarily around UHD movies. I use a TV as a monitor and have done so for 10 years because TV's look better and are much bigger.

So I finally caught up on the HU boxed review of the 6800XT and I can't see what all negative fuss is all about?

Over the 5700XT, the 6800 XT is a massive improvement. It beats the 3080/3090 in a few of games such as Dirt 5 (OK it's an AMD sponsored title) but what about Ass Creed Valhalla at 1440p? It's toe to toe with the 3090 on Death Strandingand Metro Exodus at 1440p.

It's going toe to toe in Watch Dogs Legion with the 3080 at 1440p, an NV sponsored title but falls behind at 4K with most titles.

AMD appear to be targeting the bigger slice of the pie, the 1080p/1440p segment. Strategically, this is a better option than going for the 4K segment... don't make me link the Steam survey showing what monitors people game on :bleh:

At 1080 the average performance across the games sees 6800XT at the top. At 1440p it's ahead of the 3080 and at 4K it starts fall behind.

You then factor in the price difference between that 6800XT and the 3090 and it's a no brainer. Over here it's $400 cheaper than the 3080 and $1k less than the 3090.

First gen RT performance is better than Turing but behind 2nd gen Ampere. Most people don't care about RT anyway.

We have yet to see the 6900. AMD has done good to catch up. We could only hope for a toe to toe comparison, that's all that is required for us consumers to benefit.

So you don't think Nvidia aren't destroying the PC market with Gysync, PhysX and DLSS that only work on Nvidia cards and that if you let them they'll charge you £$3,000 a time without AMD competition. Look at the 20 series prices  That worked out well didn't it  FFS wake up and smell the coffee.

Nvidia want to screw you for every cent you've got and they'll keep doing it until they bleed you dry.
