Official Navi2x/6x00 series thread

Doesn't all DX12 RTX titles use DXR?

RTX isn't like 3dvision, isn't DLSS the only part of the RTX marketing buzzwords that is nv-only?

use some DXR yes

full DXR no or AMD cards would work without reworking the games

RTX is all NV

not going to work looks like my 1900x is CPU bound maybe even at 4k
all the same settings

need that 5800x3d soon

Thanks mate. Looks like 1440p and 1080p the mins are capped at 40 fps.
i feel at 1080p will be very playable in RTX with a 5800x3d. ;)

there is one glitch in the benchmark at 4k always in the same spot and it spikes to the bottom every time

Isn't that because the 6xxx series did not exist when the earlier games were made?

Not really. There were games that implemented RT in ways that were outside of API spec that will only worked on nVidia hardware. Despite DXR already existing at the time. However I think Vulkan didn't standardize it's RT extensions till 2020?

That said, I think almost everything out there has updated now.

not 2077

??? I can enable RayTracing in 2077. Patch 1.2 enabled it to work on non-nVidia hardware.

:o

yea you are right i was thinking of FSR instead of DLSS
there is a work around or FSR i saw somewhere but have not tried it as it

I can enable RayTracing on both but with my 2080 ti it is worse than it was months back without DLSS

Hardly surprising info, especially for this forum. But he sums it up pretty well imho

Still trying to convince myself which duck to shoot...The RT duck or not so RT duck . :hmm:

Im not sure at this point but im leaning towards giving RT a couple more generations to mature before its actually usable.

Its the same deal with alot of the older brand-new-at-the-time tech over the years.

- FSAA
- Tesselation
- Shaders
- 16bit vs 32bit

the first implementation was always the one that sucked, and they usually got into an ideal state when both GPU's were able to handle it and not just one or the other.

in 3 years DLSS and RTX will be dead .

by then it will be FSR and DRX as they will be baked into games at the console level
NV will fight it by paying game developers to use theirs but theirs won't work on near every card and the new consoles

just like all the past proprietary technologys they have come out with
