Mad Max game Official Discussion Thread

Yep, its a very sleeper hit, like sleeping dogs. After they came out people waved them off as sub par, but both turned out really fun.

I think I remember there being controversy at release with it receiving average review scores from game sites while actual user reviews were loving the game.

I'm not trying to say it's great or ground breaking but it does what it does really well, and the Mad Max license in a game was long overdue. The game is a total bad ass power trip and I love it.

There is no conspiracy - it's the price you pay for releasing a game in the final quarter of the year, when all the top studios are releasing their triple A titles/sequels with established fanbases, alongside millions of dollars in marketing hype.

Too often the 'suits' think they have the next CoD game on their hands and push their devs to release titles in final quarter, only to be drowned out by the big hitters. This leads to the typical triple A gaming drought during the first three quarters and the triple A glut in the final quarter.

Your game isn't a triple A sequel in a big hitting franchise with millions of fans? Not from an A-class developer with a huge dedicated following? Then don't release in final quarter, stay away from Sep-Dec. Release in Jan-June instead. Simple. Your game might be amazing but the reviewer who reviewed it probably played a new triple A title like Last of Us or a sequel like GTA5 earlier the same week, how do you think your game is gonna look next to those ?

1. Allowing the damn mini-cutscenes for eating, refilling canteen, refilling car, etc. to be skipped or disabled outright.

One of the things that bugs me. Even Witcher 2, do I really need a special animation every time I enter a door?

Little over 50 hours and I think I've had my fill of this game.

Awesome overall. Nothing too new or ground breaking but it just did everything so well and satisfying. Being a big fan of the Mad Max movies really helps though, and they did the license justice no doubt. Very authentically done and makes you feel like you are in a Mad Max movie. I'd have to say its up there with one of the best games based on a movie ever made.

$15 well spent and fills the void of a good new post-apocalyptic game for now.

Really enjoying the game here as well. Still in Jeet territory and have it down to 1 threat level. My only gripe so far is who was it that decided you should hold A for every little action instead of just a tap

If that bothers you the good thing is once you've built enough scrap related stronghold projects collecting scrap yourself becomes very optional. The game will pretty much supply it for you a few different ways so you won't have to go out of your way for it.

You've no idea how many times I've fallen off a platform in the beginning because I was running to a ladder and didn't hold A long enough. Dumb decision; LET ME TAP IT!

Yeah I can see the immersion reasons to have to hold A to loot, as realistically that should take some time and hurt you if you try to do it while being attacked, but I see no reason for needing to hold A to climb a ladder.

I put about 80 hours into it before I accidentally did the final story mission. Still had lots of random side stuff I could have done, but for me, once the credits roll, I'm done.

instead of picking up where i left off, lost, i will start it over. I cannot find a way into this fortress i am near, and give up everytime i have tried to replay it. Id like to see it to the end.
