Buying a new system suggestions for parts needed..

I think I got some bum ram because when I enable XMP profile the system doesnt boot :( Oh and the RGB on one stick doesn't turn on

Did you try both XMP profiles?
Are you overclocking anything else?
Is the ram properly in the slot (can’t believe how many times this happened to me on AMD board due to fricking double sided latches).
Try with one stick only and move around slots?
 
Also make sure your ram are in sloots A2 and B2 :yes:

Then again doesn't bode well when your RGB is not functioning :sherlock:

No overclocking anything, all stock.

Reseated multiple times

Moved them around as well all the same.

Spaced them properly for them DDR speeds.

All to no avail. One stick will run fine non xmp and the system will not and not crash. But I'm going to need those speeds.

Heading to microcenter tomorrow to exchange for a different set. Slightly annoyed cause everything else works perfect.

RGB - on first boot to see if everything worked. RGB ram stick worked there but died shortly after and I didn't enable xmp yet here.

Rig is begging for some bottom RGB fan goodness. Cool rig. I think I will order a Lian Li case and move my 5900X/3090 to that case and move my son’s stuff to the Phanteks P500A.

Decisions.

I hate that double 8 pin to 12 pin 3080 cable. I am going to buy the corsair cable:

There are some braided ones on amazon but it doesnt look like any of them can be trusted using wires that arent good enough.
