Black Myth: Wu Kong

Looks pretty for sure but the gameplay looks so been there done that.

I'd like to see a game like this but more of a sim with the fighting.

of course this isn't an "official trailer". But still. 2023 though is kinda far away.

Gotta love just how insane good early stuff can look now thanks to how advanced the content creation tools have gotten. UE5 powered games have a pretty high potential to look insane.

Can't wait for this. Reminds me of Monkey Magic (adaption of the same story?)

Yup! Same myth/legend and popularized in the Chinese novel "Journey to the West" and one of the main inspirations for Dragon Ball.

Those graphics look great. But seems like pretty linear game and uninteresting combat....

Two clarifications by the way. The dev said it was proper traditional wukong myth, they are not messing with that, it just isnt the jttw story. Also though, you ont actually play wukong, you one of his clones/hairs.

Sweet. So it is Monkey Magic, well his clone at least.

Black Myth: Wukong is designed to be a gritty take on Journey to the West, featuring a more complex, dark version of the tale of Sun Wukong the Monkey King escorting a monk with a sacred scroll.

This game looks seriously good. According to Wiki its an action RPG game by Chinese indie developer Game Science, based on the classical 16th-century Chinese novel Journey to the West.

Bumping this because I don't know how but I never heard of this game until today. Totally missed it when it was announced couple years back, but its very much in my wheel house. Looks Souls-like obviously, but very similar to Sekiro especially in the fluidity of the character movement.

At least in finding out now, I only have to wait another year for it.

I watched some actual gameplay a while back and, at that time anyway, the combat just looked tepid. The world looked phenomenal … but combat is the meat of the game for me, so I’ll wait and see on this after release.
