Haven't posted here in a while, but I just started folding again and decided since I started folding for you guys, I might as well keep going. This all being done even though I don't have an ati card anymore. Folding under Kr0niK16

Can anyone explain why folding is so addictive? I was going to shut off my folding rig for the night, but decided that the slightly higher power bill was worth it.
 
I have returned to folding on just a small number of test computers, in preparation for an extensive burn-in of the new hardware.

Trying out the new MDC VM "R3D-b31" later today. The old one (from the original thread) worked great, but for some reason, would not fetch new work after uploading a finished WU.

You need to remove the -forceasm flag from the config - that's usually what causes that issue. MDC's new VM doesn't include -forceasm so should fetch like a lab. :yes:

It sounds a bit odd to be saying "reporting in", but well, I suppose I should be. I started folding 5 days ago and now cracked into the top 1000. That's pretty wild, I think.

Anyway, I'll have to see what my PS3 and 8800GTX power consumption (read power bill) is this next month to see if I should continue this 24x7.

Though I don't use my PS3 for anything much anymore. Just watching the odd DVD's (Netflix needs to stream more movies!) and the occasional Lego StarWars or Indiana Jones with the wife.
 
Just started folding a few minutes ago with the GPU client :cool:

However, whenever I open the display window, Catalyst (9.4) does a VPU reset and I have to close and restart F@H for it to continue. I guess I'll just have to remember not to use the display :p
 
Welcome board, and yea, either just use the console version or don't use 'display'. I had one of my nvidia cards lock up with an infinite loop when I tried display.

Welcome! The sig stats option is accessible via the user CP. You need to go to the "profile" section. It's a selectable option towards the bottom of the page. You have to type in your team number, your F@H user name, and finally be sure to enable the option which actually displays your stats. These 3 options are in successive order.
 
Says you've already got 167 points so you must've submitted a WU or two already. What client(s) are you running and what are your system specs? Note you can enable the system specs option from the same page in your user CP.
