2018 Audi S3

That's what got it...

Got the oil pan and skid plate on.

The pan had a pretty small crack in it, can sort of see it here:

Realized while I was cleaning my wheels (easiest wheels I've ever cleaned) that the drivers side rear lugs don't match at all

VS these, basically body colored:

Gotta remedy that.

Gotta remedy that.

Arent those just a cap that is placed overtop the lugs?
Which means you're missing the entire set of covers for the drivers lugs.

Order spares as well as the center cap. Those tend to go missing on Audis. I gave up on the bolt covers.

Likewise you could have gone for the exposed look and just removed the covers off the other wheels :D

The exposed lugs are ugly

I may eventually replace them with nicer lugs, the replacements were like $10.

ECS sells a reinforcement kit for this skid plate, but apparently it doesn't work on the S3  Thankfully I asked before I ordered it... I might have to make my own.

My name was invoked 3 times in a row and thus I was summoned here against my will.

So the ECS Street Shield skid plate that's supposed to fit my car? Yeah, it doesn't  It "fits," but the 7 speed DSG touches under power or turning. Apparently ECS doesn't know there's a 7 speed DSG, or that there's even a difference, so I'm on my own. I exchanged emails with support, but they just told me they'd tell R&D  I'm going to clearance it with a grinder this weekend. Thankfully it's not really solidly mounted without the reinforcement kit, so it's not going to hurt the transmission, basically just rattling around with it, plenty of give in the plate due to only being hard mounted at the back.

They also don't think their skid plate reinforcement kit will fit, but from what I can tell it should, so I'm going to take a chance.

It's kind of weird owning a car the majority of owners haven't even worked on. There's next to no info out there about the 7 speed S3 variants.

My uncle was the same way with his Audi, and I was the same way when I had mine - basically taking that sh*t to the dealer and letting them deal with it. Though ours were both leased. If I owned the thing outright....yeah, don't know what I'd do in that case. Even the mechanic I normally take my cars to do major repairs doesn't know sh*t about Audi's

Fixed the skid plate today with a grinder, it clears even on hard turns now.

Yesterday morning around dawn, it was raining real hard, low visibility. I found my headlights were really inadequate, they're way too white. Did some poking around, found out the headlight bulb is proprietary Audi, can't change anything about it, so decided to tint my headlights in an attempt to get better visibility at night and in low visibility situations.

Worked perfectly, went for a drive tonight and the light coming from the headlights is so much more usable. Plus, it looks good with this paint color. I'm a fan.

Car 2x uglier now :(

Whats the kelvin rating on the stock lights? Arent they usually around 4700k which would be pretty good mix of that nice blue look and actually being usable.

There's no way the stock headlights on an S3 aren't perfectly adequate. My Golf R lights are great. If it's just a thing you like the look of, great I guess. Whatever floats your boat. to say the OEM headlights aren't good enough is a bit odd.

I literally explained what was up, sorry you disagree but you're not driving this car. The Golf R headlights are not the Audi headlights.

enjoy it!

I do, it looks great, thanks!
