Seems like the only real "value" this generation is to get a 4090 and be done with it, despite its high price it should be a GPU that lasts a long time like the 8800GTX did.

Everyone buying it will upgrade again in two years, so it won't last any longer than normal.
Now I just need to actually use it. I don’t think I played anything but Genshin Impact on the 3090 and I usually just play that on my phone with a Kishi.
There are features that are quite useful. RTX, DLSS3 and frame gen are actual game changers. It is not just fast, it is being able to enjoy that smoothness at 4K which is a unique selling point.
Or you could save yourself $1000 and spend it on something that you'd get use out of.
From all the testing I’ve done so far, DLSS3 isn’t needed to max out games at 4K.
I haven’t tried it yet but reviews aren’t painting a pretty picture quality wise and the whole reason I spent all that money on a G-Sync ultimate monitor is to enjoy the best possible image quality.
depends on what you call playable. For me if I can use DLSS3 to keep frames above 144 in 4K or 240 in 1440P, it is worth it to me. I have tried it in Plague Tale and maybe Cyberpunk if I remember correctly. Also in NFS and it is worth it for me.
I don't know why everyone loves to diss RTX effects but once you have played a game with those on, turning it off is not an option. .
I haven’t seen it yet first hand. I was going to try it just to see in Cyberpunk but couldn’t find the option. I’m personally happy with 60+ fps and G-Sync though. I can notice a difference in direct comparison but once I start playing it won’t impact my enjoyment any.
