I liked it. Michael Keaton plays a hitman who has rapidly progressing dementia. He has to figure out how to solve his remaining problems as his memory fails him.
Not a movie, but saw a play over the weekend. Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812. Frankly, I expected more from the comet given its billing. Stupid cameo. Hah.
But basically, a chapter from War and Peace with a modern storytelling flair. Entire thing is sung... no dialog. My favorite number is the Prologue... it's catchy and introduces you to all the characters one at a time, then adding them to the refrain.
Civil War: 7-10 bangs. Not a war movie but a decent perspective from the typical war photo journalist's perspective. Not great on the action scenes but good sound work and some tense moments.
American Fiction. Hilarious / 10.
Taste of things. ASMR with depression / 10.
Anatomy of a fall. Long French translations with a BS ending / 10.
No hard feelings. Tits on a beach / 10.
Fantastic Mr. Fox 7/10 - Yes I'm way behind on watching this. I love stop animation though I can see where they had to take some shortcuts compared to their more recent movies. It was a fun flick though I felt the story didn't go anywhere.
Mad Maxine 5. 6ish-10. 5th best of the 5 movies...
The mixing of CGI stunts and live action, if any, was so seemless it took away from the artistry of the usual Triple A stunt work on Max films. The movie also lacked its occasional, usual black humor comedic relief even if sparse. Here its not there or not very effective. I got the sense Miller wants to go to darker place here on out in future films... But I liked it on some other levels tho. Had a gritty grungy feel to it. The post apocalyptic world is becoming more established and could go in interesting directions in the future.[/spooiler]
