Top Gear - Discussion

A spokesman for gay rights charity Stonewall said:

We can’t quite see Clarkson in the confectionery industry, maybe it’s the sour taste that his racist and homophobic slurs leave. All we can see him packing up at the moment is his career.
buuuuurrn lol

I wager it's going to be so over the top silly, that it's not going to be much about cars. Even with Top Gear, there was very little detailed information on cars most of the time. Sure it was entertaining, but not much journalism per say. 5th Gear is better if you are a gearhead.

Top Gear is special. It isn't about the cars, it's about the journey. They've really got their formula down. Glad to see all 3 presenters and the main producer back. Should be good.

They've always called him the fat man...

And is the new toy the car or the girlfriend? :bleh:

From Season two, I think, it had the first reference to his weight but since then to now it's...

Jeremy Clarkson's Amazon deal worth incredible £10million a year with £4.5m budget for EACH SHOW

The standard Top Gear formula has been getting a bit stale for the past few years. It's still been good TV, but not as good as it has been. I think a shake up could be good, but I don't really know anything about Chris Evans to know if he's the guy to do it.

I think Clarkson and co. were also held back a bit by being on the BBC, having to cover certain topics to make the big wigs happy, etc, so I think a show that gives them more freedom could be most excellent.

Chris is a sharp guy and could do a decent job. Definitely a car aficionado and that should come across. But not a fan of his overall personality, and he's also had a checkered past.

However, he had to have done something right to have married Billie Piper :)

Couldn't care less about him. Top Gear isn't Top Gear without the trio. Period. Good thing is I have time to watch all the season I missed.

I think the series would be quite good and entertaining with Chris and Sabine. But this other guy, he seems determined to ruin it for everyone.
