The Talos Principle II

Didn't play first one. I think I have it on 3 platforms. Not going to bother with this either. Graphics put me off last time.

Didn't know they were doing a demo. I'll check that out later today. The first one is one of my all-time favorites.

edit: Just finished the demo. Impressive. Think I'll need a system upgrade for it, though.

Oh nice, I've played the first one but never completed it :( This looks pretty good also and that demo might tempt a few people into playing a game that might surprise them.

I do wonder why there aren't more demos available for people like years ago. I think that would get more people playing games they otherwise wouldn't touch especially considering the high price of some games these days.

Because big companies figured out that it was deterring more people, usually cause the demos didnt perform well, and that waaaaay too many people are will to fork out cash before the games even released.

I really enjoyed the first one. The puzzles, especially the ones in the secret level were quite intellectually challenging. However, that also made the game a bit draining. I couldn't play more than an hour or two at a time. I'll definitely be picking this one up eventually.

I am curious what they do with the story. In addition to the puzzles I liked the deeper more philosophical story of the first. It will be interesting to see if they can pull off the same thing in the sequel.

first one was epic and one of the best puzzlers ever made, which is crazy given how much time Croteam have spent doing serious sam.

Played the demo of 2 and saw some good stuff. Didn't finish the demo though but played enough to make me know I'll be getting it.

They could use some navigation aids on that island. After finishing the puzzles, I spent 15 minutes trying to figure out how to get back to the bridge.

That's a fair point. Most of the demos I've played have been terrible come to think of it :D

Having fun with the full game. 6hrs in 25% of achievements.
Kinda racing through solving the puzzles and not reading/following the story.

Game is excellent, love the philosophy it presents and the puzzles are also quick to complete so the pace is maintained. Felt easier than the first to me, but the gold puzzles are pretty clever.

Great value at the price too.

Really? how trippy is it? did you finish original prey, dead space or portal?

I finished both portal games. Parts of TP2 are like first person Monument Valley.
I switched to over the shoulder view and turned off all bobbing and its a bit better.

[Edit]
~24 hours I got to an ending where I grew a tree. Great game overall.

This game finally got me to upgrade. The old system ran the demo ok, but not as well as I would have liked it to. Amazon dropped off new MB, CPU, Videocard, RAM and power supply today. I'll get around to slapping it all together Monday (probably). The old rig was built in 2016, so it's well past time to upgrade anyway.

This is my GOTY right now.

But I'm going to play BG3 soon and have a few other games backlogged that might float my boat.
