The Elder Scrolls Online announced!

Has anyone played the Morrowind expansion?

If so how is it as a single player/solo experience? Or does it still have that MMO astigmatism that ruins any expectation of playing this as a solo Elder Scrolls game?

Ist that an actual question? i'm certain that you already know the answer.

I do for the original game, bought ESO when it first came out and subscribed for 6 months, cancelled after it got way too boring and gave up on finding that Elder Scrolls feeling.

Just wondering if Morrowind improves on solo play and supposedly there's a bunch of new changes since the last time I played over a year ago.

i do not have first hand experience, but i ave second hand from friends. i have been told thats its a much better game in general, and as a mmo, is a goode buy. while the single player is still lacking and not all they great, it IS far more feasible though. if you are looking for a sinlge player mmo, try black desert or blade and soul. if you want an elder scrolls game, you are much better off playing a conversion mod for skyrim.

I bought the Morrowind expansion pack and play it on the Xbox One. I still feel like the combat and controls in this game are too clumsy and floaty for my taste. I felt the same about Guild Wars 2. The character animations and combat mechanics just feel too disconnected from the world.

Thread necro!

Are any Ragers playing this? I picked it up for $10 because of the 5 year anniversary thingy. Graphics are beautiful. Combat is weird but workable. I have some free time now because of my "in-between jobs" status, so I figured I'd sink into this a bit. Are any Ragers in a guild?

This is quite possibly the most fun I’ve had with a game in a long time. I’m only doing solo quests but I’m amazed at how much detail they’ve put into every quest. There are very few FedEx quests and no “kill 10 mobs and come back” quests. Well worth the $10 I spent and I’m tempted to get the expansions.

I might give it another go, sadly someone hacked my original account :(

hmmm, sounds interesting, I miss playing Skyrim... how about a few pics?

Seriously necro but how is this now as a solo experience?
With the Steam sale coming up what version/bundle is the best bet?

If you're looking for a Solo Elder Scrolls experience like Skyrim you're going to be disappointed. It's a standard plain MMO with standard plain MMO mechanics with an Elder Scrolls skin on top.

I played for about 4 months and enjoyed it for the most part. But like all MMOs over the past decade or so, it gets stale as a single-player experience once you hit the upper levels. Usually that means grouping for tougher dungeons and dealing with other players more often. No thanks.

and dealing with other players more often. No thanks.

that's still the worst part of playing something online and will always be. It's always surprising how many trolls and wanna-be's are running rampart in every online-game. I always wonder how these *sshats are in real life. If they are just a BIT like they pretend to be online, well, that would explain a lot of our current state of civilisation.

I still remember the time when i played Battlefield Heroes more or less on a daily routine. The convos always were either 1) or 2).

1) Yo, you only killed ten this round you noob !111!!!!11!

or

2) Yo, you killed 20 this round, you *******g hacker!1!!1!!1!!11

At some point you just start to completely ignore the chat. That aside i still had a lot of fun. I still do the same nowadays, ain't got no time for this toxic bs.

I think that's just the status-quo for MMOs. They are basically cyber amusement parks that get boring once you've gone on all that "rides" a few times, and are filled with people who needed to be spanked more as children.
