I was out mushroom hunting in some woods somewhere..
Anyways, this is an area where people apparently throw their garbage. Out of the way, close to a railroad with no real reason for any thru-traffic. In one spot I always find animal bones, I assume people drop their dead pets there or waste from a recent hunt.. it's also chock full of garbage of all kinds, broken TVs, parts from cars, etc.
Last year I saw some kind of dead animal under a bridge that had been skinned.. its fur was sitting about 2' away from the animal.
Two days ago I found a deer head, it had its fur and everything but didn't have flies swarming around it and it didn't smell rotten, I dunno how long it had been there, probably a while. I just assumed it was some lazy ******* who beheaded the deer and dropped it off into the woods, it's not uncommon.
Well, today I went back out to the general area and spotted a dead cat hanging in a tree, with its paws hooked to branches and it spread out like something you would see in a horror movie. It was freaky but I've seen worse in secluded areas.
But I also saw a blanket covering something that was swarming with flies. It smelled pretty damn bad and it looked like it had been hidden underneath a fallen tree, I wouldn't have even noticed it if it hadn't been for the smell.. I couldn't really see a shape and there was no way I was lifting the blanket but it had to have been a dead deer or a very large dog.
It was relatively close to the road and even though the area secluded, it gets some traffic (Turkey hunters, deer hunters, mushroom hunters, people on ATVs).
Should I worry that might be a person under that blanket? With other dead animals people just throw their **** in the woods, they don't care about covering it up.
This area is a great place for finding mushrooms ,it's a damn shame it's so scary. I dunno if some weird cultists come to this area or if it's a typical case of your deliverance types that you wouldn't want to run into without being prepared.
