Path of Exile (Free Action RPG)

Got L94 and L90 characters in Delve with my atlas at 153/159. The league mechanic is enjoyable though the 'taxes' required to partake are starting to really annoy me. Primarily the sulphite needed to Delve and the Azurite needed to upgrade.

Even when chaining T13s it still feels tedious to fill up on sulphite, (the amount you get per node is not enough imo) and while delving I feel forced into chasing azurite nodes instead of 'exploring the unknown'. I'm also not too excited about delve going to the core game when so many builds perform poorly at delving, it would eliminate way too many builds from being seen as "viable".

You dont have to delve. If it does hit main stage, you still wont have to delve. I agree about the azurite (but not the sulphite), but again, you dont have to run off into the darkness, and you can easily keep going down with no resistance nad 0% light radius. So you only need enough azurite to upgrade once you find your sweet spot, then you no longer need any as you travel left or right along the mine.

What im curious about though. Is they suggested it was only the first of these dungeons. So lets say we get four. Thats the atlas plus incursions, plus breaches, plus the abyss, plus the mines, plus 3 more infinite dungeons? Im pretty happy with that :D

You don't have to delve.
If you're not delving this league there is no point to playing it, because otherwise it's just Standard league. If I'm not delving, then I might as well play my standard chars which have mirrored and legacy gear on them.

While i agree with that, that isnt my point. I'll come at it from another angle. Ive played many action rpgs. Many of these types of games, and from farming keys, crafting keys, or from other random ways of gaining access to these kinds of dungeon. Finding random sulphite deposits in the maps you are ALREADY playing as end game content is easily the best initial implementation of the mechanic so far.

A House of Mirrors card dropped for me today, in a Vaal Outpost at delve depth 189.

Not the first valuable card I got this league though, a Doctor card (headhunter belt) dropped for me earlier in the league from a random divination box.

Hit L95 today, decided to try Guardians and Shaper for the first time this league, had no problems did them all deathless, though luck was involved for sure.

Good time to ease up on PoE, maybe hit up the backlog a bit, will play delve for sure now and again but definitely at a more casual pace.

NICE! i am still not game enough haha. Gotta be more happy with my gear and then try them. What kind of damage were you doing? Did you have a regular players 100 -200k or did you have a pro players millions?

I exported my character with PoB (path of building) if you want to take a look at it. Everything should be viewable, items, tree etc. The pastebin code to import is
Code:
https://pastebin.com/gbwfhB9i

PoB reports regular DPS at about 2.3mil and Shaper DPS at about 1.48mil (I'm not too familiar with using PoB so it may not be 100% accurate, but should be close enough)

Shaper (like Atziri) is a fight that's more about mechanics rather than pure character stats/dps. As long as you have enough dps to keep zana alive during the "protect zana" sections of the fight, your build is technically shaper ready. I've killed him in previous leagues with casual 400k dps builds.

Obviously though, having more dps will make things easier, the faster his phases are over the less mistakes you can make.

Path of Exile: Legion

Path of Exile: Legion

Trailer for the new league is out, including an overhaul to melee skills, animation updates and tweaks to make melee viable again.

Looks like this league which starts next month will be the perfect time to jump back in for anyone who wished the game had better melee mechanics.

Can't decide if I'm going to sit this one out and level up some of my previous chars from other leagues via standard or do it again.

But yeah, liking what I'm hearing about melee... automatic splash is very cool.

im curious how the slayer node and melee splash gem will work now. Will ancestral call now be stupid op or reworked to a different mechanic. also how does it work with the impale skills?

looking forward to it

also really looking forward to a second one hit and move skill like earthquake. i genuinely hate how attack and cast speed is ALWAYS the best damage bonus to go for :/

i meant the way earthquake works. Hit the enemy move somewhere else and the secondary effect triggers causing the quake. rather than just spamming the attack button like most attacks and spells.

Crafted this bad boy over the past couple days for my 2H crit sword champion in Legion league.

I usually don't craft melee weapons in Leagues, but improvements to crafting over the past year has made it quite viable to do so, though there will still be some RNG hurdles to cross.

Yeah I see similar ones selling for 15-20ex.

Approximate cost breakdown:

Hillock 28% quality: 50 chaos (bought from another player)
2xT1: 300 alts (got lucky here)
2 Einhar Imprints: 220 chaos
Remove regal after each imprint: 2 Annulment orbs (about 30 chaos)
MultiMod: 2ex
Flat phys: 4 chaos
Crit+quality: 1ex (+15 chaos crafting fee)
6S: about 50 jewellers
6L: 458 fusings (43% quality gives it slightly higher chance of linking)

(Edit: I didn't care for the "socketed gems are supported by Fortify" mod, but if you do you'll need to add about 3ex for an ilvl83 elder base)
