i think they still make the IO chip on Ryzen
Unless there is a delay in the merge there will be a flood of 3000 series Nvidia and 5000/6000 series AMD cards that hit the market used and at bottom dollar pricing. If you're patient and the stars align it could be the perfect time to pick up a used card.Seems the signs point that ETH mining will be dead from summer and on,.I can wait until summer. It will be very intersting and can't miss that. Also this and coupled with AMD strnegthen the supply chain should be enough to a decent new-gen launch in autumn.

Who knows, I might even sell a few.

6950XT is planned for mid-april. There's no 6850XT etc as far as I know

All this launch is going to be is an air cooled 6900 XT LC?
And about the same 'availability' as we're dealing with now?
Right then I don't see a ton of 6000 users crashing their doors down to upgrade.

According to him, AMD’s upcoming Radeon RX 6950XT card is to feature a boost speed over 2.5 GHz, which means it is a least 250 MHz higher than the existing air-cooled model and about 65 MHz faster than the Liquid Edition.
Looks like a better boost clock tho and being aircooled should be cheaper than the LC ver... maybe...

I suppose they refined or binned the 7nm process over time.
I really can't see the point of either the 3090ti or 6950XT. The next gen is due within the next 12 months or less so just wait for that. IMHO these refreshes are just pointless.
agreed
but i think july, august or maybe september latest for the 7000's
.......
the 7970 came out in July 22 and was a good card
they should try hard for the same release day for the 7900 xt
My best guess is AMD launches in August of '22 and nVidia late September.
No, nV will launch and their PR machine will go into overdrive.
I cant believe either will use that much power... isnt nvidia on tsmc 5nm next time?
NVIDIA’s Next-Gen Ada Lovelace ‘GeForce RTX 40’ GPUs Could Be Twice As Fast & Twice As Power Hungry Than Ampere
if that thing is 700 to 1000 watts not even NVidia's PR machine can fold space and bend time or hyperdrive thru a star to make that look good
....
at nvidia lovelace press conference when the Jacket holds up the card someone should stand and say
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VEfIYZox1GM
they have been warring about high power for months now
what is the 3090's max power draw 450+

https://www.digitaltrends.com/computing/nvidias-rtx-4090-ti-could-require-a-huge-amount-of-power/
i think they are pushing lovelace to the max to stay up with AMD and MCM with a monolithic GPU and a big one even at 5nm
......
i hope RDNA 3 will be a lot better off on and not over 500 watts
