Hypopdermic, the problem with T2 must be at you.. i play tribes2 too, and it works with all driver, in both d3d and opengl. No crashes.
BUT, the FPS is really slow, below my old GTS's performance. Sometimes drops to 10-30 and max at 50.

Well dunno... Now I have my old GF2 MX400 on and T2 works with no problems at all.
I think I have got T2 to work with this hercules r8500 in the beginning, but not anymore... Well I'm not sure about that but that's how I remember it... Well, gotta play few matches with this GF and then try to work with radeon again. :)

my experience..

my experience..

S3TC with UT is broke with this patch.. no hi-res textures.. so i'm switching back..
But otherwise - i was satisfied before, so no need for fix things :p

hhhmmmm, after installing this patch SOF2 now gets HEAVY slowdown when in outdoor areas. This has never happened before and unistalled the latest offical ati drivers using the guide stated here: http://www.rage3d.com/board/showthread.php?s=&threadid=33606840 (note, within HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -- SYSTEM -- ..........ControlSet001 did not exist nor ................ControlSet002) - Im using win98SE

Then reinstalled the latest ATI's WITHOUT the patch and the same thing happens, it used to run sweet

WTF!!?

Yeah, detail textures are still broken in OpenGL mode too :( ... I really think it's about time they fixed this crap, though I guess it's kind of moot since UT2003 should be out in a month or so.

anyone try sof2 multiplay? use the new patch, driver 6071, but the map is completely crap. i can only see black and white lines but nothing else. See the structure of building but the 3d rendering is completely unseeable. any soluation? pls!

Doom3

Doom3

Humus or anyone else that knows the opengl driver, mabe you can answer me this ?. Does this newest open gl driver in any way make better use of stencil shadows, or shadowing, or shadow buffers. I am just wondering if this driver was releasd to help fix probs in doom 3 also. Just a thought. BaeoWolf

I recently got Soldier of Fortune II and noticed that blue hue when it's snowing. Thought it was part of the effects, until I checked here and saw that GL fix. Fixed the problem, but it does kinda leave a bitty looking fogging effect sometimes, but it's overlookable. I'm very impessed on how ATI has really gotten with the program and has been releasing drivers and fixes quite frequently. Wonder if ATI notices how much more customers they get when they make their existing customers happy Go ATI!! :)

bugs?

bugs?

Well if you haven't any problems in OpenGL, then no. This update should give you some extra speed, but it your system is running well, then there is no need to update.

Huoh. My Tribes2 OGL problem still exists. I have no idea what's the problem... :confused: If I want to play it I need to switch to my old GF2 MX400. :(

What settings do you have in your clientprefs.cs ?

Well... Today I tested some more, and T2 now crashed with D3D also. I tested it only once. The difference was that I could play for about six minutes before is crashed, but with igl it's usually just a few seconds.

Anyway, here is what I have in that file now (those which I think would affect to the game):

...

$pref::OpenGL::allowTexGen = "0";
$pref::OpenGL::compressionHint = "GL_FASTEST";

$pref::OpenGL::disableARBTextureCompression = "0";
$pref::OpenGL::disableEXTCompiledVertexArray = "0";
$pref::OpenGL::disableEXTFogCoord = "0";

$pref::OpenGL::interiorMipReduction = 1;
$pref::OpenGL::maxHardwareLights = "3";
$pref::OpenGL::mipReduction = 0;
$pref::OpenGL::noDrawArraysAlpha = "0";
$pref::OpenGL::noEnvColor = "1";
$pref::OpenGL::skyMipReduction = 1;
...
$pref::Video::allowD3D = "1";
$pref::Video::allowOpenGL = "1";
$pref::Video::appliedPref = "1";
$pref::Video::clipHigh = "0";
$pref::Video::defaultsRenderer = "Radeon 8500 DDR x86/MMX/3DNow!/SSE";
$pref::Video::defaultsVendor = "ATI Technologies Inc.";
$pref::Video::deleteContext = "1";
$pref::Video::disableVerticalSync = 1;
$pref::Video::displayDevice = "D3D";
$pref::Video::fullScreen = "1";
$pref::Video::only16 = "0";
$pref::Video::preferOpenGL = "1";

$pref::Video::profiledVendor = "Microsoft Corp.";
$pref::Video::resolution = "1024 768 16";

Edit: Lol, there came some smilies. :P
