New Apple Products. What are you picking up?

You could also just not support Apple's business strategy. I know this is much to ask, but honestly, do you really appreciate that only Apple can fix you phone? Screen cracked? Only apple can fix. Any third party could have fixed it cheaper if only Apple didn't prevent this. Same with other components (touch sensor, cameras, maybe even battery). You don't really own the phone anymore. Apple just has granted you permission to use it, for a high price.

And for what? To show others you could afford to rent it?

I feel sorry for the unsuspecting people buying this phone and discover that many of the faults that can occur can only be fixed by Apple, and that only if they want to. We already know Apple wont fix e.g. water damaged phones to save e.g. documents/pictures/videos on it. Third part repair shops have oftens shown repairs to be possible, except now there is no hope as Apple decided your data isn't worth it.

Good luck with your purchase. You will need it (or need deep pockets).

You never heard of iCloud? My phone gets backed up every night. So not sure why data would be an issue.

You get a 512GB iCloud with the phone for unlimited amount of years? Or did Apple simp you into buying that as well?

Not justifying anything. Having a conversation with someone that read an article and freaked out. :bleh:

These mofos at apple added blue hue to normal aluminum watches. Pisses me off. Now need to buy next tier which is more than double the price.

You guys think Hermes one is a good investment?

No, just buy a different band

Say have you seen it in person? People are saying the blue in the midnight colorway is rather negligible unless you are really looking for it.

I am still hesitant of picking up another apple watch cause my series 3 is still going strong. Think the series 8 will be more of a real upgrade (in design, battery life, and features).

Jumping onboard the iPhone ship...

Trading in my Pixel 4 XL 64GB and switching back to AT&T. $800 in credits for the Pixel 4XL trade in, 25% discount on my wireless bill for having AT&T internet at home (bundling). Getting the iPhone 13 Pro Max 512GB for $600 out the door.

Went with the 512GB model because the cost per month was $5 more than the 256GB model and I plan on keeping this phone for a while, I do not want storage to be an issue. When I've been on vacation with spotty cell service, I've ran out of storage on the Pixel 4 XL after taking pictures/videos. Usually circumvent this with uploading to Google Photos; but when you don't have a fast enough connection to do so - kinda stuck.

Phone plan is now AT&T Unlimited Elite for $78 a month (Phone payment and wireless). Unlimited Elite gives 4K video streaming

Reasons for the upgrade

  • Taking videos on the Pixel 4XL with any kind of zoom results in terrible video quality, especially in low light. Went to a Star Trek convention earlier this year and most of my pictures with any kind of zoom and all of my videos (with zoom) are terrible quality
  • Ultrawide camera
  • Battery life is starting to become a problem on my Pixel 4XL, barely getting thru the day, with charging in the car.
  • Ability to use 5G
  • Ability to use WiFi 6 (UniFi WiFi 6 at home and at work)
  • Android 12 is absolutely trash in terms of user interface, no idea what google was thinking
  • Last iPhone I used was a iPhone 6 for work years ago, it's time to try out Apple again. Do not care for the look of the Pixel 6/6 Pro at all.

Bought the stainless steel Apple Watch.

Pro Max is the right one for you. Good choice.

Bought the Aluminum Apple Watch while waiting for stainless steel to ship. Might end up keeping both. :bleh:
