Navi 7nm GPUs/Ryzen 3 announcments at Computex 2019?

Stupid pricing on AMD’s part for Navi if true, if the 2 camps are going to be this close in pricing then you are going to go with Nvidia, makes me worry that they may charge a premium for zen 2 as well. They seem to not want to gain market share.

That article suggests it will be sitting between 2070 and 2080 so I'd expect the pricing to be about right for AMD.

I don’t necessarily agree with the pricing strategy but I think I understand why they’re not trying to undercut on price out of the gate. My in laws ran a craft distillery for about 10 years and they had more success selling at a high price than a competitive price. Some consumers assume that if you are selling at a discount from the major brand then you must be offering less. If you are viewed as an off brand with a cheaper product then it is assumed that the product is inferior in some way rather than being a good, competitive deal.

499$ is what happens when one gpu maker goes nuts and pushes prices too high so the only other gpu maker can up its own prices...

500$ the new mid range...

Oh yeah it’s somehow NVs fault

well they did break a grand first on a standard top end Ti card with a standard normal 30% increase over the old Ti
going from 699 to 1199 is almost a scorched earth policy

yes it is ****in NVidia fault .

they are being the flaming ****in dickweeds that they are and always have been

and because of AMD's lack of a card right now and the last 3 years they are getting away with it :bleh:

for now but people will remember and if Intel or when AMD comes back with something good they will lose market share

remember this
AMD not ready for MCM on Radeon, will skip Navi GPU archRadeon isn't ready for multi-chip modules just yet, too much PS5 inside of Navi so we'll wait for next-gen

once they dump this GCN for whatever is next
and if they get that glue working it should be fun

It’s the lack of competition that allows them to charge what they think the market can handle. Apparently there are enough people that don’t care to pay more than the normal price increase for the normal performance increase. Not for nothing but the fact you went and paid for it ruins any standing you have. It is what it is. If I had the money I’d purchase one too because **** it, who cares about principle, but at the end of the day NV is a company to make profit. AMD would do the same thing if they had a complete stranglehold on the high-end market.

I don't know...2080 Ti is so overpriced an offered such a lackluster performance improvement that it's almost not worth it even if money is no object. I went ahead and got one because I saw one on Ebay for a "decent" price after Ebay Bucks cash back.

The truth is I'll never miss the money, but I still I don't feel like it's really done much for me. Then again, I play a lot of older games which makes it even more retarded. The card was a real champ running Dragon Age: Origins!!! :yahoo: Technically it's supposed to go to my VR box, and my 1080 Ti comes out to my main PC, so the purchase was not as absolutely stupid as it sounds. But my VR performance wasn't really bad, so...

The whole card is really just meh because it doesn't add much performance over 2 year old 1080 Ti. The increase in performance was at the edge of what would even justify selling the part (if it had been any lower there wouldn't have been any point to even release it). And RTX is basically of no real use right now, with only a few games having it, which you'll just blow through unless you're planning to play BF5 for hundreds of hours. Then on top of that, the difference in appearance vs the performance hit makes it debatable whether it's even worth it in many cases. And upscale filter DLSS.

Anyway, unlike the guys trying to justify their purchase, I won't even bother sugar coating it: The 2080 Ti was barely worth a buy in my book. On the plus side, I guess it beats just lighting hundred dollar bills on fire.

I don't think they would go neer as far as nv has

but we will see in a week on the cpu side maybe in 3000 pricing

Bill, you are the problem that allows Nv to justify raising prices.

Fist bump to KAC for not selling out this gen - word up dawg.

Bill was late to the 2080Ti party, others bought way before he did as he was holding out for Asus.

Even worse.

BTW Strix isn't even an 'A' chip [unless you have the advance model]. Better off with reference.

my strix oc is doing just fine and is a A chip

and the Strix has much better cooling (not needing water like a reference ) and less likely to have coil whine

as for me justify raising prices

they have had low RTX sales with the higher prices and their stock is down
it has been 9 months and no price drop and is not going to happen .

the next one will be the same price .

but go ahead and wait till hell freezes over and never upgrade :bleh:

At this rate I dont think Intel can or will want to do anything about pricing either. They will up their prices as well as amd to follow Nvidia. We need another big 4rth gpu maker to come in and put real pressure on prices.
