Hellblade -AAA title from Ninja Theory

Even run is merely a jog, so crawdaddy is right there. Hopefully he can endure the bit at the mid point where she runs at walking speed :P

Thanks for responding to that; I wasn't going to bother.

I did make it to the end of the game, and I have to say that the presentation, sound, atmosphere, enviornments, and graphics (with the exception of some structure/landscape textures) are all 10/10.

However, combat and puzzles should be challenging but gratifying. Both are chores, mostly due to the slow movement and inability to turn around and assess your environment when in combat mode while enemies silently spawn behind you (causing me to constantly hit both target cycle keys constantly).

It's hard to recommend someone purchase it when the best of the game can be gotten from watching a YouTube Let's Play.

If anyone out there still exists with an AMD GPU, can you please see if the frame rate issues have been fixed as the latest hotfix claims?

oh nice, didn't see it. Sadly I can't even check if they fixed it because once you beat the game you have to start over again.

So I just completed the game, took me 8 hours to complete, and about 10 deaths. I got to say, "WOW" and in a good way. Fantastic journey, very immersive and atmospheric game with challenging battles and fun puzzles.

This game is now in my top list of best games ever, Freespace 1 and 2 share the top spot, with Hellblade being second spot.

Hopefully we see more of this kind of game from Ninja Theory.

Here's the fix for the stuttering and black screen on respawn

you'll need to add these lines to engine & GameUserSettings.ini
[/script/engine.audiosettings]
bDisableMasterEQ=true

and make you sure you have the latest graphics drivers
this solved my issues
between an amd 8350 issue
and a nvidia issue (note Nvidia recently updated their drivers within a couple of days).

EDIT: This is a fantastic game and must be played wearing decent headphones.
I cant recommend enough that you purchase and support Developers actually making more games with a adult plot (seriously vote with your cash or forever be reduced COD/micro transactions/dlc for ending).

why the F is this game soooo popular. just started "playing" it. biggest pile of mumbo jumbo ever, unskippable cutscenes. the voice chatter reminds me of woman yacking at a hairdressers. the graphics are nothing special, Wolfensteign the new colossus is much much better with better character animation too

Cause skipping the cut scenes would be completely missing the the game. This game is about giving an experience, and the whole game is needed to give that experience. If all you are looking for is to just to get to the combat, then you bought the wrong game.

That is ok, the game was never meant for you anyways
Also it is one the best games released in years, imo.

Very true:

That's the point. She doesn't know what's real or what's not, and you're supposed to participate in that.

Neat experience, poor game. Watching a Let's Play will save you $30.

You do not get anywhere close the experience of the game by just watching it. How the gameplay is is a part of conveying the emotions needed to fully get the experience out of it. Just watching it will not come close to giving you the experience and emotions that you are supposed to get when playing this game.

Here is the warning they show when you start the game. It gives you some insight into what you are in store for:

LOL! no it won't.

e.g. your own internal dialogue is vital component to a few of scenes in this game, particularly the ending.

(anyway as you've now watched the game, i'd recommend reading a breakdown of what of what actually occurred in the game, though i noted the raven scene wasn't included).
