Google Pixel

Phones are out.

I caved and bought the Pixel 2 XL 64GB Just Black version. Trading in my Pixel XL 128GB for it

Without the $410 trade in credit - I wouldn't have upgraded. 2 front firing speakers and IP67 water-proofing was a major selling point for me.

Enjoy it. Wasn't worth it for me, plus losing the headphone jack this early after shelling out 1k CAD. I'll wait for the Pixel 3.

So $410 trade in credit through Google for existing pixel users and $325 back on T-Mobile. Can cancel the new line after the prepaid MasterCard ships

Only the 64GB Pixel 2, not XL :(

I just ordered a 128gb XL. ;)

In total you are looking at around $180 from T-Mobile if you cancel since you will need to have the account for 8 weeks (two months of service) before canceling.

I've cancelled my pixel 2 order. Having second thoughts, not sure it's worth the upgrade from the pixel XL. Gonna have to mull this over for a few days.

I'm gonna go grab a v30 tomorrow. I got 3 weeks to cancel my pixel 2 order if I like it.

Pulled the trigger on a Pixel 2. I keep phones a long time, so 3 years of OS updates is a big plus.

The Pixel and Pixel XL are good for software updates until October 2018, security patches until Oct. 2019. Hoping this time next year we get Pixel 3's.

I cancelled my order. I got a V30 coming and gonna play with it.

It's 2 years of OS upgrades, 3 years of security upgrades.

and no headphone jack despite them making PHUN of apple for removing it

Pixel 2 sales page: "Pixel’s software and security updates for three years"

Water resistance and decent front-facing stereo speakers > built-in headphone jack. Is it really that difficult to slap a USB-C dongle on your 3.5mm headphones?

No, but that jack is now more prone to breakage, because it's doing double duty.
