Google Pixel

Single speaker bottom firing - my phone is 85% media device, and 10% camera and 5% phone.

Mounted on my dash, that speaker is a deal breaker for me. It might sound picky, but I don't care. I want my music and movies blasting out of multiple, front facing speakers lol. I may never get another phone :o

Headphones, Bluetooth speaker, Bluetooth over stereo in truck -- not sure I ever use the cellphone speaker on its own? Each their own I guess.

Been pretty happy with our Axon 7's. All day battery life (4:23pm & 70% remain with bluetooth & wifi active) for me, microsd, & front facing speakers.

I'm out of the truck walking fiber runs, several miles (and tunes :p ) a day. Otherwise yep, those are all good options.

Switch what case are you using on your Pixel? I was using a Spigen Slim Armor XL case. I just switched yesterday to this case by CaliCase:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N11Z4VP/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I can't believe how thin this case is. It's more of a sleeve than a case. Obviously it wont protect the phone from drops as well as the Spigen case but I have yet to drop this phone since I have owned it. I love how the case is no longer a hassle to carry around in my pocket. Worth checking out imo.

Thats cool -- currently running a combo of the Slick Wraps leather back and a RhinoShield CrashGuard...

Slippery little phone otherwise ;)

Best thing about Google phones:

I'm thinking about getting the Pixel 32gb to replace the wife's phone that went kaput since I accidentally tossed it into the pool. Apparently I just missed out on a sale at the google store.

Upgraded my 32GB Very Silver to an XL 128GB Quite Black. Slapped a Spiegen Rugged Armor on it. Great device. I'm skipping the 2nd gen.

What's this obsession with removing the headphone jack ? Really not feeling that move on Google's part.

I just ordered her the 32g silver, but now sort of regretting not getting her 128gb. She does take lots of movies/pictures, but wondering if I should have splurged the extra $130

Well a good thing is she can back up 100% of her videos and pictures from her Pixel to Google Photos with no impact on her cloud used space. Provided she has access to Wifi once in a while, it should be easy to maintain a reasonable amount of free space on her device -- Backup and remove the pictures/videos from Pixel.

Ended up getting her the 128gb (before I saw Nox's post).
Got the phone, only issue was her contact list didn't transfer over. Now she has to manually re-enter (and find) the numbers for that.

We did get the Google Dream as part of a promotional package at the time. I'll give it a try in a day or so.

Judging from the leaks of the pixel 2, I'll be staying with my pixel XL until the pixel 3 or whatever.

For me, I'll be getting a PX2, dunno if XL though, I should of slapped myself for not waiting last year...

Any phone that ain't a google phone, is not the right phone!

I found after the Oreo update I was having terrible battery drain until I went in to the battery section and told it to optimise all the applications for battery life. I would have thought this would have been available by default but it seems that it wasn't for me.

Afterwards I would say battery life is on par with Marshmellow.

I also have noticed that my Pixel XL drains battery faster (even faster than with the latest DP). What works for me is to turn off Bluetooth.
