FuryX for $519cdn

What's your current CPU right now? I have an i5 3570K @ stock clock, but apparently, I need to upgrade the CPU because of my Fury Pro due to the unplayable Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. I'm waiting for AMD Zen.

AMD FX8370 was getting 50-70fps on Battlefront, ultra settings, 4xAA, 2560x1080p. Now getting solid 80s with occasional spikes over 100, same settings and AA now at 8x. Always wondered if Nvidia cards underperformed a bit with AMD CPUs.

Mobius Strip screensaver also looks awesome on the FURY. If any AMD people are reading this, they should make all of their classic screensavers available on the AMD site like Nvidia does. :D

Why not crank that baby up and see if it improves things? You should be able to get it over 4 GHz no problem.

After one night I'm going to go ahead and say it, the FURY is officially my favorite video card since my legendary ATI 9800Pro AGP card. Lots of hype w/ Nvidia, but I am shocked at just how much the Fury puts the GTX970 to shame. Was expecting a 10% gain, not 30%+ in everything.

Glad I didn't go with the 1070.. bet the image quality & colors wouldn't be close to what I'm seeing. Not sure what the problem is when AMD is making products like this. Sometimes the best isn't necessarily the fastest, IMO.

Best $280 bucks I've ever spent.

There is zero difference in IQ and colors between AMD and NV. That hasn't been a thing for over a decade

Umm...Nunz...Ultra, no. That was about the texture loading. But we are talking about COLOR difference.

EDITED: Just digged and found this old thread that dated back a few years ago.

Erm .. He's running 4K on a 970 .. of course the game is going to be forced to swap textures? I don't get it. There isn't enough vRAM on the 970 and it's forcing it to swap from the HDD. He claims it does the same thing at 1080P but never shows any proof of that? I skimmed through the video with it muted. I have no texture loading issues on my NV GPU @ 3440x1440.

The textures take a huge amount to load with Nvidia where bad quality textures are apparent for a few seconds until the good textures show up.

This is how they win FPS wars in the media...

 "this is how they win FPS wars in the media" you love conspiracy theories don't you?

@Treeck - Yeah you are right about a difference in default color choices -- I was wrong to say they are identical out of the box. However you can make them look identical, which was what I was trying to say. it's not like AMD is doing anything different than NV, it's just how they have the colors calibrated at default.

anyone got a pic or a link that shows a furyx mounted on 240mm fan lol?

I suppose swapping out the top 240 fan for triple 120s is a viable option?

So you did not see the lag in the loading of HQ textures?

Yeah, it's called the card doesn't have enough vRAM and is forced to swap from the hard drive. Playing 4K on a 3.5GB card will do that to you. Of course the RX480 won't have swapping issues .. it's an 8GB card .. Both were a lag fest and played like ****, so why would it matter anyway. The 970 doesn't have the power or the vRAM to run 4K, and the 480 doesn't have the power.

I mean really ..

Does the HAF932 have the bar at the top? It should have a bar where the 240mm fan is mounted (if it's like the HAFX). You should be able to mount the AIO cooler to the other side of that bar, and there should be open holes for you to do so.

I haven't had a 932 in years but it was a great case. There's gotta be some way to mount it.

Sure looks like it nunz, would have to remove the top fan and just mount the cooler. Theres enough slots to put 3 120s at the top of the case and stick the aio cooler on the center one. Assuming im doing it right lol

And you know this how? Because he specifically said nither the 970 nor the 780 were hitting vram limits...

Because Doom uses more than 3.5GB at 3440x1440, a lower resolution, and he said it wasn't hit vram limits yet shows no proof of that ..

Slow texture swapping is literally a direct symptom of not having enough vRAM... it loads the higher quality textures slow because it's swapping from the hard drive. If you did this on an AMD card with too little vRAM it would have the exact same problem. Frame rates would also be piss poor just like it was in his video.
