Fantastic price on R9 Fury (Newegg)

Thanks for posting. Picked it up for $285.98 shipped.

Looking forward to replacing my aging 6950 2gb and finally trying out Doom and GTA V.

However, as crazy as it is, I'm assuming my 2011-era i5 2500k @ 4.4gz and 8gb of DDR3 will probably still hold up just fine (as long as the R9 Fury X doesn't blow my 2011-era power supply). Just a shame we haven't seen such big gains in CPU performance.

well Zen seems to be a good time to upgrade that 2500k at last.
 
Finally got a chance to install it today. Took a bit longer than I would have liked...

So the R9 Fury X is a looooooooooooong card. And, unfortunately, my Antec 300 is a bit of an antiquated and no so flexible case.

After a little metal work to modify the hard drive bays, everything seems good to go (just). Probably need to look into getting a bigger case whenever I go for a full new build ;)
 
Update: the card has dropped even lower in price since I first posted this. It now sells for $269. I wish I had something to put one in because that's too good an offer to pass up on.

Apparently if you use newegg promo code MPGAMER16 you can get that down to 245 bucks.

It's some sort of thing you can sign up with Newegg where you don't have to enter any card details. Probably it's associated with MasterCard somehow, although I didn't really look into it.

Actually its like Visa Checkout, in that you can load it w/ any card. I used my AmEx when I was using Visa Checkout, and have have Masterpass loaded with my Visa lol.
 
Noticed how Fury pricing kept going down? It is very possible that they might be trying to clear out their inventory. Something tells me that Fiji cards will be EOL soon. Perhaps, this could means Vega is coming soon?
 
Well, I bit. Been holding onto my pair of 270s too long. Gave myself an out, in case I get buyer's remorse, since I have a premier account (free return shipping, no restock).
