Death Stranding

Are any of you using DSR in this game? if so, how did you get it to work?

I have set the DSR factors in the CP and even gone as far as changing my desktop resolution to 8k but in game, I am limited to 4k.

You need to set your desktop res to dsr res

Edit/ soz didnt you said you changed desktop res

Forgot about that post. I changed the desktop and rebooted a couple times even and it just wasn’t working. The next day, I started it up and it allowed me to set it to 8k. Not sure about ultra performance mode but performance gets me high 50’s low 60’s and looks a little better than 4K quality in the fine details but not much. ( I need to see again with low latency ultra enabled though) 8k quality DLSS is a huge improvement but only noticeable in the fine details but was dropping into the mid 30’s and didn’t feel smooth. I turned on low latency in the CP and it’s note mid 40’s to low 50’s but feels like the G-Sync I remember.

Lots of shimmering in the DOF blurred areas in the room. Wonder if that has to with DLSS?

Sadly I finished my second play though. Definitely discovered a lot that I missed the first time around. But this time will be my last. Got some final achievements and am done. Such a great game overall! I'll miss little Lou but 2 playthroughs is enough.

Both play-throughs I totally missed the Musician outpost on the starting level. I kept wondering where to get the harmonica I kept seeing in videos online. Finally found him at the end of this one. Luckily Sam doesn't know too many songs so I didn't miss that much.

I can understand the low completion percentage for the Best Beloved achievement, but its odd to see only 2.5% did In Sam We Trust. I guess some stations were hidden really well.

The rarest achievement I unlocked was "Growth of a Legend." Only 1.7%!

A lot of the outposts are pretty off the beaten track and won’t be found unless you look for them. Plus, many don’t join the UCA without doing multiple deliveries. So, unless you are going for the Best Beloved achievement, I don’t see how you would get the In Sam We Trust. The 0.3% that didn’t get Best Beloved were probably trying for it but gave up.

Yeah I guess. Its a lot more time and work to get Best Beloved though.

Simply connecting all facilities is much easier. But you're right, you have to find them all too and some of them are cleverly hidden.

Finally got around to this game. Love the atmosphere, graphics are great and voice acting seems really good.

I got past the prologue, just got my first 'quest' from Dr. Death.

Please tell me it eases up on the cutscenes a bit. :bleh:

It does ease up on the scenes but there are some big ones towards the start and the end.

I was trying to remember why I stopped playing this game, then I read about the long cut scenes and remembered why.

Ain't nobody got time for 30 minute cut scenes.

This game had some of the best looking cutscenes I've ever seen in a game. Was well worth the time to watch them IMO.

Absolutely.
Beautifully done, with top-notch art direction.
A true joy to watch and a necessary complement to one of the games with the most compelling narrative I've ever played (and am still playing).
Not a second felt wasted watching them so far

I normally hate cut scenes but watched them all in this

He who hates cut scenes should not normally buy Kojima games

I remember watching one particularly long cut scene several years ago. It was called Metal Gear Solid 2.

Yeah, people. Who hate cutscenes should avoid kojima games.

I'm going to replay this on ps5 once director cut upgrade is out. Easily one of my favourite games.

You have a 3080... why wouldnt you play it on pc?

I've finished it on PC already, but the directors cut hasn't been announced for PC and likely wont be for some time.

I also own the game on PS4 so it's a cheap upgrade, until the PC update maybe comes out and I upgrade that one also. :bleh:
