Crawdaddy79's dash cam collection of vehicular asshattery.

Come to Toronto. Not to sound racist, but the asians truly ARE the worst of the worst from my daily driving observations.

I've noticed, it's usually east Asians who are the terrible drivers. Most of the central Asians I have seen, Indians and Pakistanis and Sri Lankans are typically decent.

I have no idea why some people just SUCK at driving though :(

Also, women. They may get into fewer accidents, but I wouldn't be surprised if they CAUSED more accidents from their asshattery

You're spot on. It usually is older asians, not the newer generation. My explanation for it is they never drove in their own country, but come here and are able to train and get a license. They don't have years of experience behind them and may have slower reaction time than a younger person would. Thus they get into accidents.

Also from what I remember women statistically are more accident prone but there's less chance of a big accident. Guys are less accident prone but they get in bigger wrecks.

Here in the Montucky tribus we have a few problems.

The most harmless one would be the slowpokes. The average speed around town is about 5-10mph under the limit on all the main streets. Quite often you can combine this with bottlenecking both lanes. Since this one isn't a safety issue it's not that big of a deal. Just aggravating at times.

People here frequently pull out into traffic and enter your lane only to accelerate like a sloth and force you to merge over to get around them. They could've simply stayed in the other free lane and let you pass on by first. But no. That would require paying attention and some consideration. Instead your the a-hole because you dare to drive like a "maniac" and go the speed limit.

We also have problems with people who need to merge over into the left lane (fork in the road) and didn't get over soon enough. So instead of driving further down the road and making a left there then cutting over on side streets they literally put the blinker on and STOP right in the road and block traffic until it clears so they can get over. This happens often in heavy traffic like right after work. This behavior is tolerated here because people aren't in that much of a hurry in general - but would never fly in a big city. Having learned how to drive in CA it amazes me when I see it. I even honked at one guy on the way by because I was raging (my bad) and he ended up wanting to fight over it. I didn't oblige him and did my best to ignore him after that. Not worth an assault charge and losing my job.

/rant off :)

One of my colleagues is Vietnamese and has been driving for a while but she genuinely sucks donkey balls as a driver. She's about 25 or 26 and seems scared as heck when behind the wheel, "correcting" her SUV (you had to know she had one) regardless of if it's in a straight line or not, and jabbing the accelerator instead of constant pressure and varying that to change speeds.

Very disconcerting and basically made me do a face-palm when she drove us to lunch a few weeks back. She's probably not going to get into an accident because she does maintain her distance, but she is just awful at spatial recognition and what's going on on the road. Fortunately she is smart enough to not be on her cell at the same time while driving.
