Catalyst 14.7 RC3 are out!

Another useless AMD driver releases...

14.4
14.6 Beta
14.6 RC1
14.7 RC1
14.7 RC2
14.7 RC3

295x2 Microstutter in World of Warcraft and Diablo 3, unable to disable Crossfire due it being a dual GPU card and disabling Crossfire dosen't do anything. Again using a single 290x or a single 780, SLI 780 or TRI SLI 780 results in smoother gameplay. I've even gone as far as having the 295x2 replaced.... I'd even go as far to say that the performance is even worse then before, it felt much smoother on RC2 but even that wasn't bearable...

I am so glad I decided to go with AMD after all these years.... Even though the performance of the Nvidia 880 probably will be meh at 4K I bet it will still be smoother then this POS....

Anyone wanna buy a slightly used 295x2+290x lol?

Works fine with my 2 295x2 in World of WarCraft and Diablo 3, both windowed, so far.

Will test in Windowed mode shortly and give a shot.

Edit:

Windowed Mode = No stutter/pausing/hitching, but its a bandaid fix because Crossfire dosen't work in Windowed mode. Performance drops way below what I am used to around 35FPS - 50FPS. Even though the issue is resolved performance is way below what is acceptable.

Windowed FullScreen = Stutter/pausing/hitching/skipping still present. Most notably while flying or on a ground mount.

Thanks Ulysses for the suggestion, but I need faster performance in Windowed mode while gaming, nice to know though you've given me the option of disabling Crossfire. But then again I might as well just remove the 295x2 and use the 290x.

Put another driver report in again....

Watchdogs is much better now with these. Finally, a smooth 60 fps at 1440p on ultra. Still ridiculous that it takes this much horsepower just for 60 fps though.

wow GPU usage is terrible, maybe if I added all 3 cards up it would hit 100%.

Diablo 3 crossfire has never worked for me, never across multiple drivers and windows re-installs it has never worked once. Straight up 100% usage on one card and 0% on the other two. Full screen everything on ultra with vsync off.

I do believe crossfire would work with vsync, but since I run 120 hz on a qnix it wont work. So I would be stuck at 60 hz, which would mean 60 fps would defeat the purpose of crossfire in the first place.

One thing that is baller is Twitch streaming with crossfire is now working. Raptr actually does this which makes it much better than any other solution in that regard (OBS does not do this). Not sure how that raptr team got it working, but kudos to them.

Welcome to the console port world...Watch Dogs game is very terrible optimization for most PCs. :bleh:

Going nVidia next round myself.

Currently I have the same basic GPU setup as Hapatingjaky.

So very little of what I hoped with these GPUs has panned out. Mantle still doesn't work with any game, either outright failing at launch or exhibiting inconsistent and often poor performance.

Tempting, only I don't really see the advantage of going from the pan into the fire...;) Grass rarely is greener across the street, but golly, sure looks that way sometimes, doesn't it? [ibid: 1988's Fun with Optical Illusions.]

is RC3 missing now? The link downloads RC1... what the ****

Same thing happened to me, btw. Didn't actually get the RC3's until this morning...also, in the other 14.7 RC1 thread, the link now points to the 14.4's...;)

What's happened here? Why aren't the beta driver release threads being stickied as they usually are? When the 14.7 RC1 thread was published (that now points to the 14.4's), it wasn't stickied with the other driver releases--now the 14.7 RC3 thread isn't placed there, either? Is someone on vacation, I wonder?...Heh...;)

just got the first BSOD with this RC3....so...I'm decided to install 14.4 WHQL (the last time I used was the 14.4 Beta)...hope this staying way without getting any BSOD.

How much? :D

Have you tried the 290x CrossFired to the 295x2, as in the 290x is the main card? Meaning you will be able to turn off CrossFire?

I am wonder about that configuration since I am cross-firing and some games just play better on a single card. Mostly though I've been very impressed with CrossFire.

turn off or turn on HPET, in bios AND in windows(google that one). Also there is a 64 or 32 version in most Bios'es. It has helped my quad fire woes back when I was young and stupid for running more than one card ( just because I needed a bigger Display..lol). Also SLI is 50% crapshoot too... if your a; "I have 30 games to play " kinda nerd.
