Amazon Fire TV stick vs Fire TV box?

I picked one up, needed something for the living room, and since I'm a Prime subscriber it was only $19. Fire TV is too expensive for me, same with Google's Nexus Player. I want cheap! Love my Chromecast.
 
$19 is hard to pass up... but I don't know what I'd do with it :bleh2:

and I still don't know how this compares to the Fire TV box...
 
I'll buy in for $19, even though I have a Chromecast. But the dual band Wireless will be a very nice change. However I hope at some point you can get CrunchyRoll to work on it as that gets the most use from my Chromecast.
 
I picked one up as well. Hell for 19 bucks, why not!

Apparently the guys at media browser are working on an app for it. That will make it awesome!
 
I picked one up as well, for $19 that is a good value, especially since I can use my Kindle Fire HDX to control it.

how does it make the Fire TV box obsolete?

The stick version has a lower end dual core CPU instead of the quad core Krait.
The stick version has half the RAM
BT 3.0 vs BT 4.0 etc
If you compare the formats supported it seems the stick doesn't handle as much, who knows though.

If the Fire TV included VUDU then I would buy it.
 
At $19, seems a virtual no-brainer for anyone who doesn't already have a streaming device. I don't, however, see it displacing anything, certainly not my Rokus.

Mine's Dec. 9th. Chances are pretty good they'll bump up the date though. Their estimates for stuff that far out are usually off (likely on purpose as it makes them look better when they can get it to you sooner).
