Whichever client you select, you can limit the amount of memory it can utilize. I set my LinSMP vms @ 384mb. Regardless, every sector of the project is important, whether it be SMP or not. So thanks for sticking w/ it!

my problem is even if i limit the vm's to that, vmware wont start both clients unless i have 1.3gigs assigned to the program itself:(
so i'm likely gonna add one more gig (use 3 slots on the board) for 3gigs of ram to make up for the loss.. just gotta buy more ram.. next payday probably...

VMware will only use as much memory as it needs, consider it a max. At the VM level, 384mb appears to be sufficient.

Noob to the folding team here. Just started up a linux VM tonite on my quad. Not running a second VM as yet, working on it :D

Set up the second exactly the same as the first. But run the ./modNAME script to differentiate the two (I'd also rename the VMs within VMware so you know which is which.

Add #2 and you can consider this a pre-welcome to the top 20 in team production. :D

Hello. My name is Lupine. I've been addicted to Folding for seven years.

New Folder checking in :) Just started folding using the SMP client so don't expect anything for a while :p

Currently running an E8400 at 4.3GHz and I can't see this machine doing much else today (I work off a different laptop). At this rate it looks like about 16 hours per 500000 WU. Fahmon is currently reporting 2564 PPD.

I'm in... It's been awhile since the small amount of DC I've done. I figured why not let my computer work a little when I'm not around at work.

Well I know I haven't posted alot lately, had major internet probs here at work and haven't been at home enough as of late to post either, but things are back to normal here at work and I be here as I can!!

I'm finally stumbling back to folding again...

Now with a quad core, and as soon as I can get a new case and power supply for the old system, I should have some nice numbers again

Skinner checking in.... ;-p
Folding Systems-
1 Athlon64 X2 3800+ @ 2.25Ghz running the GPU Client.
GPU-X1650GT (slower version of the X1650XT)

1 Athlon64 3000+ @ 2.35Ghz - Standard Windows Client
---
Athlon64 3800+ @ 2.4Ghz - Standard Windows Client

Still deciding on whether to put my 2 Quad Opties to work on the same thing since they are such power hogs.
