This article provides information on the latest posting of the AMD Catalyst™ Software Suite, AMD Catalyst™ 15.3 Beta.

This particular software suite updates the AMD Catalyst Display Driver and the AMD Catalyst Control Center. This unified driver has been updated, and is designed to provide enhanced performance and reliability.

Package Contents

The AMD Catalyst™ Software Suite, AMD Catalyst™ 15.3 Beta contains the following:

AMD Catalyst™ Display Driver version 14.502.1014

The AMD Catalyst™ 15.3 Beta Driver can be downloaded from the following links:

NOTES

This driver is not intended for use on AMD products running in Apple Boot Camp platforms. Users of these platforms should contact their manufacturer for driver support.
When installing the AMD Catalyst™ Driver for Windows® operating system, the user must be logged on as Administrator, or have Administrator rights to complete the installation of the AMD Catalyst Driver.
The AMD Catalyst 15.3 Beta Software Suite requires Windows 7 Service Pack 1 to be installed.
The AMD Catalyst 15.3 Beta Software Suite requires Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5 to be installed. Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5 is included in all Catalyst packages.
AMD Eyefinity technology is designed to give gamers access to high display resolutions. As pixel count grows, the graphics "horsepower" required to drive the displays at a reasonable frame rate can increase dramatically. Depending on the game and system configuration, users may notice texture corruption and reduced frame rates when running games in multi-monitor Eyefinity modes.

The AMD CrossFire™ profile for Dying Light is currently disabled in this driver while AMD works with Techland to investigate an issue where AMD CrossFire configurations are not performing as intended. An update is expected on this issue in the near future through an updated game patch or an AMD driver posting.

Resolved Issues:

[412702] Screens may blank out when enabling a 3x1 SLS with 3 HDMI monitors
[411847] Leadwerks : Project Manager crashes with a "Pure Virtual Function Call" error
[413076] Second Life : Rigged mesh objects are not rendered correctly when hardware skinning is enabled in the in game settings
[413392] Star Trek Online : Block corruption is experienced when MSAA is enabled in the in game settings
[410367] System hangs/BSOD upon resuming from S3/S4 sleep on AMD Radeon™ R9 285 configured in AMD CrossFire™ mode

[407622] Screen tearing on enabling VSync with Alien: Isolation game
[407175] Catalyst Control Center Video Quality settings may not be available or retained if the "Enforce Smooth Video Playback" option is not selected on some AMD HD series GPU's.
[410391] Primary display may not be retained after disabling Crossfire while in Eyefinity mode
[409705] Enabling or disabling Crossfire may lead to one side of the 4K MST display being shown as black
[410393] Minor stuttering may be seen in Dragon Age Inquisition on Single and Multi GPU configurations
[414660] Total War : Attilla - The game may hang during in game cinematics on certain Kaveri platforms with a separate discrete GPU

Can someone state the different versions for d3d, ogl, mantle etc.? Thanks =)

Wait... did AMD make a mistake here?
Did they forget to bump the version numbers?

No crossfire support for freesync...why do amd continually do this? They introduce something then for some reason crossfire support for it is put on the back-burner. Eyefinity was the same deal and so was frame pacing.

To be fair, that was no surprise, they have been saying that all along.

So far I have only tried Farcry 4 (finally!)
Farcry 4 in crossfire seems to run as good as you can expect an ubisoft title to run in crossfire, so that is a plus. Seems to be anywhere from 75-120 fps.

No Dying Light crossfire profile....WTF!!! Pathetic absolutely pathetic especially after AMDMatt was stating that a Dying Light profile was in the next driver and he had seen it running with increased performance....again...WTF!!!

Apparently something happened. Disappointing, but at least they mentioned it specifically in the release notes:

I realize benefit of the doubt no longer exists for some, and perhaps rightly so, but AMDMatt's comment isn't voided by the decision to disable the profile. Its hard to define "as expected", but that certainly doesn't infer any dishonesty on his part.

I agree in that, these should have been released 3 months ago, but, we don't know what is going on, and we have no idea how many driver guys they got these days.
Speculation is, they are pooling all their resources for the 3XX cards, and DX 12 so they can make a smooth launch, and hopefully start making a profit to hire more people.

This don't help the old users with their issues though, and yeah, it sucks big time.

I'm honestly just happy they released a driver with crossfire profiles for some games. Yes I own dying light, and I am disappointed this driver doesn't have a profile for it, but at least they are attempting to communicate the issue. AMD would save themselves a TON of grief by having more open HONEST communication with their customers, and not just pr approved communication talking points. Honest communication is free btw, and way more valuable to AMD than any new tech they want to push.

I know my next graphics card purchase will not be crossfire until they can either straighten out their profile release schedule and/or their communications. I do like the underdog, and I am rooting for them, (I also might be a glutton for punishment) so I will still probably get a single 390x.

This driver is getting ripped apart over on Guru3D forums.

4 months to disable crossfire in dying light.....yeah I would say they kind of deserve it. Nvidia Game works partnership has done a ton to hurt AMD imo. It almost seems like those games go out of there way to screw over AMD, I almost feel sorry for AMD at this point. They can't win with any of those games. Game works is becoming pretty successful at turning PC gaming into a one vendor eco system, as much as these turds on this board hate on apple, they sure do love their Nvidia- not sure if that is irony or something else.

Seriously, what do you expect? AMD is a small company and their driver department is probably most likely a small team or so. But of course, this'd be a different story if AMD never had bought ATI when if it weren't for ATI. Personally, I don't need to update the driver frequently. I don't have the AAA games since I'm not interested to playing them.

They are probably too busy to working on the R9 390X and work with MS for DX12 driver for the Windows 10. Don't they?

Kind of hard to express how I feel about it in words. But essentially the 390x's aren't out, so why crap on the people who own your current products so you can work on a new product.

prepare for rambling!:

I don't follow that business logic, what is the "gain": those same customers that you juts pooped on are the same ones in the market to buy your products and there is a competitor who is currently beating the shiz out of you by having a reputation of quality (whether that is deserved or not doesn't matter, that is the rep they have)

Your current customers are who you should be going out of your way to satisfy. That is how you build brand loyalty and a reputation. Not by endlessly pumping out tech at a cheaper price while ignoring and not communicating with your base.

Personally, I am a sucker so if it is faster than Nvidia I will probably buy it, but I also know going by past performance I will regret it 6 months down the line. AMD just doesn't have the resources I fear to play in this game correctly. They can't handle new products while supporting older products. As a customer why should I care, when I can go to a competitor who does both (or at least has the image that they do)?

That last sentence is where I am at, and pretty sure most enthusiasts are at that point too.
