14.9 WHQL Win 7/8 out; a step in the right direction?

Hello! CCC info tab shows 14.7 for the Catalyst version after this package is installed. Is that correct? Thanks!
 
Installed 14.9 over 14.3, the new CCC is pretty much the same thing as the old CCC; if there are differences I failed to notice.. Wasn't it supposed to change?

who knows, maybe amd was talking about something else when they mentioned it. They are so awesome at PR and communication!

Most of the complaints you have come from someone believing everything they read on the internet, not AMD's awesome PR and communication.

It was a tweet or interview or something from one of your guys. They said they were working on big CCC changes, and they didn't promise them or giv e a timeline. But it just so happened to be tweeted or mentioned when we went through the long driver drought there a month ago. So naturally people assumed that is what they were working on. You know kind of like when NVidia put out their new cards and AMD put up a countdown or something for "something big" then it turned out to be some stuff for india? Kind of like that, AMD does this kind of stuff all the time.

I think the thing is, we are rooting for ya. So when you tweet something or mention something vaguely we hope for you guys to really pull something cool out of your hats, and over and over it turns out to be not what we expected... to put it lightly. Is it part our fault? Sure is, but only because we are really hoping for something crazy.

It was Richard Huddy in a MaximumPC podcast, and a PCPer interview

But he never gave an actual timeframe.
 
the release notes for these drivers though, reported something like 'New user controls for video color and display settings'.
Already asked, noone answered. Can't see anything new.
