Windows 10 1703 15063 Creators update

Cold booted my system this morning and the NVidia driver would not stay in 4:4:4 chroma though that was plainly what was selected in the drop downs. I had to put it into RGB and then back to YCBCR 4:4:4 in order to get it to switch over and work. First time I've seen that behavior ever so that is no coincidence that the creator's update was loaded last night and then now this.

Latest Nvidia driver (381.65)?

Cause Nvidia added some new settings that will really jank your color doings and be weird when switching modes for some people.

Where do you see this option? I've been wondering about this for awhile now as the 4k TV that I have hooked up to my media server (GTX 970) via HDMI 2.0 seems to not be displaying in Chroma 4:4:4 based on the visual anomalies I'm seeing. When I go to the Nvidia control panel my only output color format option is YCbCr420. This TV is supposed to be 4:4:4 capable, from my research. I would assume the 970 is as well, if not I'll have to swap it out :(

Nevermind, found out I was on the "wrong" HDMI port on the TV. Switched to HDMI 1 and bam! 4k 60Hz 4:4:4 FTW! Much better desktop display now.

Latest driver. Only became an issue after creators update was installed.

I can roll back. Or report the issue and wait for a fix.

Same here with Intel graphic's driver. Rolled back and all is fine. I wish MS would make driver updates optional or at least able to hide individual ones like previous OS's. No issue with the OS itself after upgrade.

What random behavior is this bullcrap. I started my system this morning and had to do the usual switch from YCBCR 444 -> RGB -> YCBCR 444 to get the display in the proper mode.

Started the system back up at lunch and it just suddenly wants to work properly and went straight into YCBCR 444. Didn't have to flip the box back and forth in the driver.

I'm tempted to just deal with it and wait for a bug fix to be released vs. monkeying around with going back to older drivers. I'm not real impressed with all these issues considering how long they've been working on this update. Broken dialog boxes? Messed up gfx drivers? Dumb.

Can anyone confirm if the start menu changes if the update is installed on a computer joined to an AD Domain? The inability to get to Administrative Tools would be infuriating. Thankfully my workstation, desktop, or laptop have received this update yet. Did see it on another workstation I just did a Win10 Upgrade on, though.

Yes it is the same. Doesn't matter if it is domain joined or not. I was really loving the right click start menu as it was, only it would have been nice to have devices and printers in that list as well. My domain was half Xp half windows 7 and jumped pretty much the whole domain to 10 so that menu was new to me.

All of our systems are professional. We have 126 computers on the network and unfortunately windows 10 enterprise is a subscription (sla)and we can't afford it. Of course we can't seem to get it if we wanted to (other than the ltsb version which isn't designed for daily user use)

I am getting system crashes and game crashes since the update. I don't like how they installed windows defender over my other anti virus. I feel like thats going to cause problems with my PC.

The crashes could have been a result of lower voltage on my CPU. I tried lowering the CPU voltage a bit 3 or 4 days ago but everything was working fine and dandy. Then after the update I started noticing some issues.

Removing control panel is strange.. I just don't understand it. Now I pinned it to my start bar.

Holy cow, that was ALOT of radio buttons to click. They keep adding new privacy stuff every half year or so I see to partially override the ones you're blocked..

Downloaded the new build last weekend on to a USB install. Secure erased my 960 Pro and downloaded all the latest drivers to the same USB key for install before plugging in the interwebs. Have had zero issues with it. Works great.

Did the same last night for my Surface Book, no problems either, runs great.

Just wiped my mom's system and have mostly everything installed and its working fine.

did the latest build add the game performance update?

Yeah there is a game mode. Win 10 has it on by default for me. Buuut I am getting weird bugs. Sticky Notes and the action center keep shutting down on me. Also my web pages are acting strange. I had no problems before the update but I am gonna just add a little more voltage to my cpu to see if that is somehow the problem. When I shut down windows the whole screen just artifacts and spazzes out..

I am kinda pissed off to be honest. I have heard of many issues this update is causing people.

I've deferred the Creator's Update for a few months while things get sorted out. It broke some of my music plugins, and there was nothing visibly better about the update so I got rid of it.

No update yet from NVidia or MS to solve the chroma mode switch problem with my setup. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. Very random behavior out of it and I can't make heads or tails out of it.

Guess I'll have to be patient for now if I don't want to roll back the driver or the update.

What's the issue you're having? I'm on the creator's update on this machine, with a GTX 970 running driver 378.66. Using RGB output to a chroma 4:4:4 4k TV and it's working great!

The majority of the time I boot my system up the display is clearly not in 4:4:4 chroma any more. If I go into the driver the selection is correct.

To get it to actually pop back into 4:4:4 chroma I first have to use the drop down and select something else like RGB. It switches to RGB fine, then I put it back into 4:4:4 and apply. Voila back into 4:4:4 chroma just fine. That solves it temporarily. Until the next restart.

This happened immediately after the creator's update installation.

It has completely fuc**ed up my sound blaster xtreme gamer again. This happened when Win 10 originally came out. Absolutely no sound whatsoever. TBH it's as much a Creative problem as MS so I just enabled my onboard sound hooked up the cables and now getting 5.1 surround sound which isn't that bad. Need to play with the settings but I think I'm now done with creative. If they can't be bothered producing a decent driver sod them. Also for future upgrades no legacy pci slot required. Only bought this MB because of that. Oh well sh*t happens.

My Z-series sometime loses sound too. Some kind of bug that messes with the output. I have to put the PC in and out of sleep to reset it.
I heard creative will unveil a new card sometime this year. Would you go creative again?:bleh:
