Hmm, seems like the game has gotten a bunch of 6/10 scores from the reviewers.

Seems like it might be a destiny situation where the core game is fun, but there is not enough content.

Hence my 4/10 customization score. The biggest issue I have right now is a lack of content. The core game seems like a lot of fun so far and in the end that's all that matters :bleh:
 
got it . played it. and here is my impression.

so much for the ps4 power, the car doesn't even look as good as those on gt6 on ps3

the gameplay is too acadish like, they should call this crash club instead, i feel like playing a iphone racing game on my hdtv. it is not fun at all.

not my type of game lol,

driveclub really not that great, what are they trying to do there.

its not about racing, and its not about crashing. it seems like it is about drifting. but it is not.

the handling of the car is super unrealistic, yet it is not fun like some arcade racer.

this is a racer game that has no focus point.. god damn what it was like a year ago.

and why in 2014 , we are still seeing a racing game with cars, that is icing on the road like floating.

Score averaged among all reviews brings it to a 7.4, not great, but far from horrible.
 
so where is the PS+ version? the store is updated but it just gives the option to buy the game at the discounted price.
 
I got it downloaded and am playing, It wont connect to the driveclub sever right now,
either issues or because the game is still downloading all the track/cars etc as I play ( unlocked some cars and cant use them yet as they are not downloaded )

Game is shite. Penalties for collisions and going off track. Please suck my dick.
Cars gliding through as if on ice.
AI colliding yet racing past without penalty.
Graphics much worse than Forza and also no AA while racing.

40 down the drain.
 
Some more impressions from me after playing some more.

Cars glide like they are on ice. It is hilarious after playing games like Forza 5 and Forza Horizon 2.
Penalties for going off track and collisions. Wtf? Yet AI cars collide with you and continue forward as if nothing happened.
Graphics are decent but very underwhelming after Forza Horizon 2. I think weather effects are also missing in current version. No AA makes me cry.
Can't join a club since servers are offline.
Sense of speed is decent but honestly, it is just an average game. Not worth buying. Just play the PS+ demo version and that is the end of it.
No free roam as well as far as I can tell.

Also only 40 or so cars as far as I can tell. Plus I did not yet receive my bonus car packs from pre-ordering. Some of the vistas are decent and can be fun to drive in.

I thought Crew was a decent game but this one is really not even on par with crew since in crew you can go off track, chase cars, hit stuff and actually damage the vehicle plus there is a shitty story to follow.

This one has absolutely just standard fare driving and it would have been fine if the driving model was any good. It is just retarded. Also the constant shaky cam while at high speed makes me feel as if my fps is about 15 or something during the drive. Very jarring to play after smoothness of Forza games or Grid Autosport on PC.

Also you get a 3 second timer when you go off track that is dead center of screen and occupies like 25% of the screen. Makes coming back on track a nightmare since you may actually hit the car passing by causing you to get collision penalty that also ****ing takes part in barring you from seeing any ****ing thing in dash cam. Seriously WHAT THE ****!

My rating. AVOID. 4/10.

I don't get the cars on ice part. I brake going into turns and the game handles fine. I think once higher tier cars unlock, better handling will make the game feel less slippery. As far as your complaints about free roam, I can see why they didn't go that route. My biggest gripe with the game so far has been that the servers are still down. If they aren't up today, I will be asking for a refund.
