Just built my L/C/R's and need to fine sand and finish them. My HT is a budget build with a Denon 1610 Reciever and a Panasonic Blu-Ray player. My Left and right speakers are 2pi studio's and the center is a 1pi. I will build 2 more 1 pi's for surrounds and finish it off with a second Table Tuba sub or possibly a THT or something. The TV is a Samsung Plasma.

They are set to large though many would argue that is not the best way for them to be set. I am leaving them that way til I get a second sub.

Got them finished here are a cpl pics.

Looks interesting so I got a few questions for you.

Why did you pick the Pi kit over others?
Did you buy the kit from Pi or use your own speakers?
How much work was it to build the speaker boxes and what kind of tool set did it take?
Can you post some build shots?

These speakers have a high sensitivity so it takes less power to drive them. Example: watching TV with my old Pioneer towers I had the volume at about -5 or closer to 0. With my new Pi speakers I get the same volume with MUCH more clarity at around -15 to -10.
I haven't got allot of money and wanted to build "budget" speakers. out of all the speakers I found these seemed to be at the right price/performance point. I also really like the look of the studio monitor size speakers over towers. I just feel they are a bit sexier =P

I bought the kits from Wayne at Pi speakers. Its more than just speakers you get the crossovers and all the internal wiring. You just have to build the simple boxes.

Simple. I used a table saw but a Skill saw would have been just as easy. and a router with a home made circle cutting jig. I chose to recess the speakers but they can be flush mounted with no loss of sound quality.

Well the HT got a little bump. Nothing mind blowing, as it is rarely used, but a WDTV Live Plus and an upgrade to a HDTV will probably see it getting allot more use.

Next up, that receiver and crappy digital cable box(was free from my cable company) are going to be replaced.

Here's a crappy pic of my HT... With the lights off it's much better but my camera sucks for dark shots.

Would love to upgrade to a brighter, 1080P projector but it won't happen this year. Probably the next or so...

Edit: WTF it's almost the same pic I took months ago on top of the page no less :o

I think I have that same receiver. Is that a Sony STR-K840P?

Wow, between 2001 & 2009 Sony didn't change their receiver designs very much did they. They look almost identical. However, it is a Sony STR-DE575, which I bought back in 2002.

Ahh ok. Yeah I have an older than 2002 model, but it looks exactly like yours.

Amazingly mine is still working great.

I see you moved your couch ;)

I got these Hsu HB-1 MK2's R/L's and a HC-1 MK2 center recently, and I mounted the center today. I  them, they sound great. Decent projection, very dynamic and accurate imaging. Next up, new television
