I wanted the Elantra because 90+ out of every 100km I drive is on the highway and my next big trip is going to be a 3000km run to Regina. The tires that came with the car are 'meh', but otherwise it just glides along. Not having gears takes some getting used to, but that CVT is getting me some absolutely stellar fuel economy - I'm averaging 5.5L/100km if I don't use cruise control (6-ish if I do).
Yeah the tires were my only complaint. I replaced the OEM tires at 15,000 miles. No traction in the rain, never mind the snow

Replaced with these. They are quieter, I get the same gas mileage, but amazing traction in the rain and snow. Highly recommended.
