This happened much sooner than expected...

So watching the market on used C8's soften, rather than lose more money than I was willing to since we all know I would have been looking to replace it sooner rather than later...

I made a decision to get rid of it.

Today I replaced it with a brand new...

2023 Genesis GV70 AWD 2.5T Sport Prestige

Not only is it a great car (and 2022 Motor Trend SUV of the year) but it is wonderfully equipped. As a bonus, I will be able to drive it in these cold snowy Wisconsin winters.I loved my toy, but this was probably the smarter option and definitely more practical.

(not to mention eliminating a large chunk of debt)

The only pic I have right now, as it was dark outside when I got home:

 I grocery shop less often than you buy cars lol.

Very nice

You aren't just trying something new or trading, you're "getting rid of it".

What didn't you like? Quite the change going to a sedan like this.

Just did a double-take. I didn't even know it was an "SUV".

There wasn't anything I didn't like. It was great. Best car I have owned thus far.

This was more a financial and practicality decision.

I'm surprised you didn't come to that conclusion before you bought the C8, but the heart wants what the heart wants.

I still dream about getting a Rivian R1T one day, but know there is a mountain of more practical things I need to pay for ahead of that.

Time to check my lotto tickets.

Sometime before = Alfa Romeo Giulia
September 2020 = Kia Stinger
April 2021 = Toyota Supra
October 2021 = Tesla Model 3
July 2022 = Corvette C8
October 2022 = Genesis GV70

I actually see a pattern developing.....lol

Looking forward to your next car in mid 2023 :D

Hah. Even my sales guy (who has been a friend since my STi days) knew better when it came to discuss optional protection/warranties.

"I know you are going to have this for less than a year..."

Damn that is one fine looking luxury performance daily driver! Does it have the heads-up display? I've always wanted info projected on my windshield. (I mean that sincerely, not sarcastic)

No, in the US they only put the HUD in the 3.3T Prestige. I loved having one in my Stinger, Supra, and C8. The digital instrument cluster is 3D which is neat, but it's kind of gimmicky.

Were you always planning on selling the vette? Used market value doesnt matter if you were gonna keep it?

I was never going to keep it long term. You should know that by now. Just like I won't have this long term. The C8 just happened much sooner than anticipated.

So any idea what you're thinking of trading this in for?

Or you think its more of a spur of the moment thing when the time comes?

Overall the car looks great, and I love Gensis cars, Kia/Hyundai is the only ones that can seem to make good looking cars this generation.

That being said, I'm not sure how I feel about the wheels. On one hand I like them for being unique, on other hand, I hate it.
