The Official Fall 2016 Apple Event Thread

FWIW, between my gf's 7 and my phone, I don't really notice a difference.

I liked some of the bokeh stuff with the new 7 plus camera, but it's simply a nice to have.

If the rumors are true and the next phone will have AMOLED/OLED, it'll make options a lot easier next year.

And hopefully the Pixel will be a more compelling purchase as well. I am simply not sold on the Snapdragon 820/821 right now. The 830, from a feature-set perspective, is far beastlier.

So far, Pixel looks super meh.

I doubt the beats x have class 1 because its going to need a lot more power to push the range. Beats solo have it cause they have a nice big battery in the ear cup. Thats not going to be the case on the beats x. Class 1 would probably drain the battery fast as hell.

seems to say all three are class 1
Beats x is an entirely new line of earphones, expertly designed to accommodate sophisticated audio advancements within its small form factor. Its simplistic, fluid design keeps Beatsx extremely light and nearly unnoticeable while wearing. Compatible with both iOS and Android devices, Beatsx features Class 1 Bluetooth for optimal connectivity. For iOS10 users,

Flir one for ios picture

not the best and it is a little slow but useable and 240 bucks is a whole lot better than 3000 to 5000 for a good IR camera

apple carplay

so far I like it Kenwood still need to work out a few bugs

but can't tell about 7+ battery life as it is always charging with carplay anytime the truck is running
is that going to harm the battery ?

Watch FINALLY shipped.

Apple must have sloths working to fulfill their inventory. Almost as ridiculous a wait as what caused me to cancel my Nexus 6p order. Almost.

Broke my damned screen again. Wish I had bought Applecare. Damn phone is fragile.

That sucks. Fortunately screen repair is what, $99-$149 depending on your model I believe. I drop my phone almost every day and have never had it crack. Do you have a case?

I do, it caught a corner that was only barely not covered. Pulled it out of my pocket and caught it on my pocket, sent it flying, though not a long drop, just caught it just right I guess. $149 for my phone, so I'll have spent $300 on screen replacements, before I even pay the damned phone off.

If the corner is barely not covered I would get another case. My wife has my 6s plus and it has this case as named by Amazon:
"Spigen Ultra Hybrid iPhone 6S Plus Case with Air Cushion Technology and Hybrid Drop Protection for iPhone 6S Plus / iPhone 6 Plus - Space Crystal"
It has been dropped a couple times and lived.

My other case is "Incipio Technologies Octane Case for iPhone 7 Plus" I have dropped that phone as well and no damage. Both have a lip all the way around and both have enough on the back to protect the camera.

My previous case was a Spigen that was designed so poorly around the microphone that it made it so anyone I talked to could barely hear me, very muffled. The first time I broke the screen was because I had to take the phone out of my case to talk one morning, and the aluminum is so slick it slid right out of my hand onto tile. I still have that Spigen case, it was good for drops, but too much of an inconvenience when actually using the phone.

Apple store was nuts yesterday, and took them about 2.5hrs to repair it. I went back to the house instead of waiting. I am glad that Apple does these kinds of repairs though, it's not nearly as easy with other brands of phones. My phone is like new again, and the new home button is ever so slightly more clicky now, which I like.

How much was it?

Sucks that it broke. That stuff is unavoidable if it catches the right angle, doesn't matter what case you have on it.

*knock on wood* been lucky so far. Dropped it once face first and did that slow motion pickup fearing for my life. thankfully nothing

$162 after tax. Wish I didn't break the screen twice and instead just paid the phone off :bleh:

Next iPhone I get I'm getting applecare. Screen replacement is only $29 then.
