Could it be that AMD is going to stop supporting older GCN arch's and focus more on Polaris and Vega?

Polaris is mostly a GCN die shrink optimized for 14nm. GCN has always been relatively poor at geometry/tessellation. Most of the 480's gains are due to its 3-400mhz core clock advantage over older AMD cards.
