Stray -The Purrrfect Game for Feline Lovers

Just beat it in less than 5 hours. Awesome game with a touching story and really cool ending (at least visually), but I do wish it lasted longer and had a little more gameplay variety. That being said, it's probably up there as one of my favorite games of the year.

My, rather leisurely, run was about 9 hrs and 30 mins or so (didn't sleep for an hour). I did collect all badges, memories and completed all tasks. Though I am no achievement hunter, their are some easy ones that I just may get back to. There is no real reason for a 2nd playthrough (unless achievement hunting).

My biggest gripe is with the restrictive jump mechanic.

And, yes, one of the better games out this year. One of my only 2 day one purchases on steam (other being bioshock infinite)

Though most would say a final get together with the other cats would have been a fitting ending, the way the kitty breaks the 4th wall at the end (as if to say thank you) tells me that he/she/it has the confidence to face the world. That and their maybe a DLC or sequel incoming due to the massive success of the game.

Had a feeling that's the case. Seems to be pretty typical for these types of games. Short and sweet for the most part but no real replay value.

Yup, and this is only made worse by strict contextual jumping which makes it impossible to just explore the environment.

Overall, though, this is a great game, def. worth $10 i spent on.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I have make sure my feline friend gets to sleep for an hour straight so i can get the damned achievement.

I know its kinda a simple walking sim more or less, but it's real pretty and the cats real cute. Im enjoying my time with it, worth a buy to me. I also hope the devs make more with more indepth jumping mechanics and features.

it also helps that the main char looks almost like our old grandpa-cat ;) And yes, free roaming would've been nice but would've meant they would've had to put a TON more work into enviroment to make it worthwile.

There's a Sekhmet costume in Origins.... :bleh:

Is the game worth playing if you are not a feline lover?

Is it actually a good game if you just view the digital cat as a gameplay mechanic?

Very short, 4.5-5 hours tops but reviews have been very positive so far.

it's a great game but, as usual, not for everyone. It's also cheap considering all the work they've put into it. Would be nice to support the devs and not cheap out on an already cheap game, but that's just my opinion.

Personally, I have to really care about a game and/or developer to buy it at full price, especially as a show of support. While this game looks nice it's not screaming out to me as a must buy right now.

Gonna bone on PS5 by upgrading the tier. Will cost me 10 bucks for a 26 bucks game. Cant complain.

May also end up boning Sushi ghost director’s cut while I am at it.
