Radeon Software Crimson ReLive edition 16.12.1

It's still missing the detailed video settings you had in the catalysts, but I like the rest. I hope they'll add those settings back in a near future.

Yay! Did the clean install option without Relive. Went smoothly (FuryX). Waiting eagerly for Zen + Vega!

Hope Rage3D does a new feature article on these latest developments! 2017 is looking to be a great year for AMD!!

The new chill feature doesn't appear to be even a work in progress
Meaning?

That's the reason I asked you guys to specify features you want added (or re-added), so that they can enter the pipeline.

Meaning a real software dev teams gets it right the first time. 1.0 is the first and last version.

That is bs and imo an unreasonable demand, not even Nvidia, Microsoft, Apple or AAA game houses, ect get it right the first time, all software needs a maturation time out in the wild, testing in house can only do so much, there's a zoo of pc configs out there that is impossible to know how the software will behave in all of them.

Aesthetics overall blows away Nvidia drivers 5 to 1. Each their own I guess.

To me Wattman is self explanatory and easy to setup fan profiles, clocking zones with each one having a set voltage etc. - it's fantastic! While being uber easy at the same time as being very compact.

It doesn't work for me. If I overclock 1% it craps out with wattman error, recovers, craps out and goes back to desktop. I do have Sapphire Trix installed. So what is with all this dynamic mv and Pstate stuff. How do you overclock with this POS?

"AMD Officially Launches Biggest Radeon Software Package Ever – Crimson ReLive Edition 16.12.1"

Really for whom? Maybe they mean the size of the download  Not for me that's for sure. Wattman is crap for the Fury Pro, Chill is a joke for most games and I'm not remotely interested in Relive. The only positive thing is it's not borked my freesync which other updates did. Disappointed from near Manchester UK!

Amd Radeon R9 with Relive drivers so far.

Amd Radeon R9 with Relive drivers so far.

Just wanted to say I'm loving the new drivers for my r9 390x. I did notice a problem with these drivers. While playing Titan's Quest Anniversary Edition, my notification pop up to remind me of a tv show coming on. Then my screen went black. I couldn't access the task manager either. Had to do a hard restart to fix the problem. Hope this bug can be ironed out.

Assuming they steadily add more games to Chill, and improve it more, it could end up being a handy little feature.

Good to see the ReLive doesn't impact performance much. Did anybody test out h.264 vs h.265?

The toms hardware test makes chill look like a nightmare for people sensitive to uneven frame pacing.

Rocket League + HEVC ReLive (instant replay on) = Hardlock. AVC gives no such hardlock.

Would it really be that hard to implement a custom fan curve in wattman? I mean seriously that is all people want when it comes to fan control, but they keeep coming up wtih broken mysterious ways to control the fan. Their method of controlling the fan is about as useful as trying to control the fan with my mind. They should really rethink the fan control section of wattman, it is beyond useless and needlessly vague.

Explain how you have fan profiles setup.

Lets see I can set up a min fan speed, and a max temperature. Everything in between is set up how?

How exactly is this useful, am I missing tabs or something?

sorry but they should have done like every third party program, and given us INTUITIVE curves, not some weird two slider control that does who knows what.

this should be the standard:

Oh and i installed the driver twice: once using DDU and once using AMDs own clean install method. So if I am missing features, it is AMDs issue.

That would be a good feature request going forward. Incremental fan settings. You can trying hitting up Kombo for any such requests. It looks like a work in progress but it is a good start.

Missing Chill

Missing Chill

Hi guys

I've installed these twice, once after a DDU clean and I don't have any chill settings anywhere, I've seen screenshots of where they should be, be I've got nothing.

Running 2 x 290X's on Windows 10 x64.

It appears it's for any GCN cards, so should be good to go there.

Any thoughts ?

This is on my XFX RX480 by the way

Yes, I know the fan settings are silly; just put it that way to show that it actually works :p

I am actually taking notes on new features/stuff that can be improved. Hence the sticky thread I posted

I don't have them either, so they are either for somethign >290x or they dont show with CFX.

Also, I think the drivers and AMD are doing a great job. Don't let my point about the fan controls come off as ungrateful.

yeah on a 290x dont have any of that except min fan speed and max temperature. quite a few people with the same issue. Don't have chill either.
Not sure if that is a fucntion of running CFX or if those features (chill and target fan/temp control) are just not available on a 290x

Tested Chill on Fallout 4, it didn't go as good as I'd hoped, it actually stays in minimum framerate almost all the time (didn't really detect movement all that well) I guess it's still in very early stages.

The driver seems doesn't work with modded VBIOS as well, it gives code 43 error, reverting to stock VBIOS made it work.
