PowerDVD 4 plug-in now available

hi, thanks for the plugin!

Would you be able to add the ability to bind the key "k" so that i can switch audio channels? Or also the ability to switch from different cdrom drives by pressing a key if possible?

Thanks again for the plugin!

Hi jpuff!

The audio channel select is there, but the label is a little off I guess: "Karaoke" It's what PowerDVD calls it. I'll change the name in the next version.

The cd select, you can do with "Open File/Disc Select" action, then using the down/up arrow keys to select.

wow i'm an idiot! Just realized I didnt put the remote software to "specific to the currently active feature." therefore I wasn't able to use those features.

Thanks alot for this plugin, it works perfectly now and is a dream come true :D

Version 1.01, and Source Code

Version 1.01, and Source Code

Hi everyone... I removed the need for MFC in the PowerDVD plugin, and fixed a few bugs. I've also released the source code which I hope someone will find useful for other ammo projects... :)

Here are some direct links:

Wonderful, now your plugin is working perfectly !!!!

Just a suggestion : the volume event does not react like it would react without the plugin ; if I hold the button pressed, the volume rises only by one step, whereas it should constantly rise until I release the button.

It's a problem of event repeating (I've got the same problem with Girder)....

I am not really sure to be clear, so tell me :-)

Tried the new plug-in - and now the volume control works...

But the Programmable buttons come up as assigned. Eg: E and F don't step back and forth 5secs. This used to work with the previous version.

Any hints?

Thanks...

remotew: Done. :) I'll make another build tomorrow if nothing else comes up.

princi: I just gave it a try and it still works on my side. Try this: In Remote Wonder's config, there's an option that says "Specific to the currently active feature" - make sure it's enabled. Also make sure E/F buttons are still assigned in the PowerDVD plugin config window.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

Yep, checked those already. "Specific to the ..." and the key assignment.

Forward/Rewind don't work either. Vol+ and - and Mute do. Play and Stop, the hand, but that's about it.

I'll keep trying...

Hi Prici. Could you paste the content of your c:\Program Files\ATI Multimedia\RemCtrl\Plug-Ins\zpowerdvd.ini? (open it with notepad)

I've been comparing the 1.01 and 1.02 sources to figure out what I changed, but as far as I can tell, the only thing I modified was two lines concerning the volume up and volume down, so I'm not sure what's going on...

Anyone else having this problem?

I don't have this problem with the lastest version 1.02.
But the A-F buttons assignments only work if I choose : "Specific to the currently active feature" and then "Windows".

Now just wait for the volume tweak and it's perfect to watch my DVD !!!

You can now download 1.03: Only change is the volume now repeats. The action will again need to be re-selected, sorry.

I noticed you had 1.03 up on your website, so I grabbed it.

I've since completely re-installed my system, so it's all fresh and brand-new. But I have the same problem:

If I try to fast forward, it stops. If I try one of the A-F buttons, it pops up a screen that says: This button is un-assigned.

I've gone into configure to make sure that the assignment is there (eg. F = skip forward 5 secs) - and it is

I did have it working once (this was v1.01) on my old system, but never again since then.

Any ideas?

Yes, I've selected "Specific to the ..." and "Windows"

Thanks...

Prici, you could the following:

1. Open the PowerDVD plugin config window, then just push OK. Open c:\Program Files\ATI Multimedia\RemCtrl\Plug-Ins\zpowerdvd.ini with Notepad and paste everything here. I just want to see if its getting mangled somehow.

2. Does switching back to 1.01 work? If you haven't tried it yet, please do. You can download it here.

Tried going back to v1.01 - same problem.

You don't think that it might have something to do with XP SP1 v1078, do you? I was running v1073 when it worked successfully - and then stopped working.

Thanks for your help.

I guess that's possible. I'll see if I can find more info on what's in SP1...

And, you're not having problems with other plugins like Winamp, correct?

Sorry, don't have winamp installed.

Actually, to tell you the truth, I re-installed ShowShifter and a lot of the buttons for that didn't work. So, maybe the problem is my Remote Wonder (or maybe the service pack which would have the same effect).

The remote wonder software is pretty simple. And it can't be an RF problem because I'm only cm's from the receiver.

Go figure...

Thought I might point out that the new Winamo plugin (v1.01) from Nidan works fine for me.

Shame - because what I really want to use is PowerDVD.

Maybe I'll install WinDVD and try that out....
