Predictable given the history of GloFo although I didn't expect it so soon.

If true, does that mean Nvidia's efficiency lead is basically gone?
That is huge... 150w down to 95w. I bet we will see a RX 485 with slight clock speed increase at 120w. They could roll out a full lineup with vega this winter.

should be good news for Vega also could mean much higher clocks or overclocks
No.
They still have a better efficiency.
However its a huge step forward for amd though.

ironically, check out the jayz video in that thread
the xfx overclocked to 1475mhz drew an average of 133watts i believe and ~100watts at stock(mild factory oc)
whats the power usage on the 1060?
so wccftech might not be off on there guess
That review by Jayz is the most convincing evidence that this rumor might be true. That card was drawing way lower than the other RX 480s, it ran way cooler and it overclocked better, and it was reflected in the scores. So, assuming the whole thing wasn't staged (which why would he do that since his rep is on the line), something seems to have changed.
Holy **** how do we identify the chipset revision?
Where is the 1600+ points in overclock? Are these chips handling more voltage better than the other RX480s were?
