Thanks for the updates SirPauly. I check this thread frequently and appreciate your links. I don't usually feel the need to post anything, but since NigelG opened his trap, I guess I might as well.

Why the ''trap'' comment?
Anyhow it's a good thing you don't usually post anything....
Good one...I have a right to criticize anything I want to.
The man is taking his time to share this info with us. There was no reason for you to inject your negativity. If you don't like it, don't click on the thread. Easy enough.
If you happen to have a very powerful Nvidia card from within the last two or three generations of Nvidia hardware you can get the PhysX simulation, which is awesome.
Will there ever be a way to have PhysX less taxing on the system? Maybe through drivers?
I don't know much about how it works. It is a nicety but maybe not worth having if it's too taxing.
GPU Physics
For those with PhysX compatible graphics cards we’ve enabled GPU based turbulence and destruction particle effects. You can see some examples of these on the Leyline crystal on at the Portal Spire, the Void Vault, as well as mining and harvesting debris
Can you offer videos or screenshots to showcase your problems? Before and after the problematic DLC? The more awareness, hopefully your problem may be addressed!
For NASCAR '14 we decided to push the particle system to its limits in order to create a true to life NASCAR experience. A major feature of NASCAR races are the crashes; they always result if large amounts of smoke. With NVIDIA GPUs we have been able to push the limit of the amount of smoke that we can draw, enabling us to create vast smoke clouds that will disperse over longer periods. This creates a much greater level of realism during a NASCAR pileup than any other previous NASCAR game.” To demonstrate these effects, Eutechnyx has put together a side-by-side trailer, highlighting how CUDA greatly enhances NASCAR ‘14’s particle effects and visual fidelity
