I’m not sure if this should go here - feel free to move if needed.

Need your help guys, please.

Latest NV drivers, ran DDU in safe mode, no errors/issues.
2 different HDMI 2.1 compliant cables

I followed 2 different guides to enabling HDR on the CX and no matter what I do I can’t get TV 4k with 120hz to show under settings and windows will not show the CX as supporting HDR.

Thanks for any ideas gents.

Do you have the TV in a game mode or something for low latency? That may disable some options.

Game response is on with HDR enabled for the port in use. I’ve tried multiple ports as well.

I know it’s apples to oranges, but the content on the ps5 works perfectly, which leads me to believe the TV is ok…

Here's some info from RTINGS.com
4k @ 120Hz is only displayed properly in Game Mode. Outside of Game Mode, it skips frames.

Like the LG C9 OLED, the LG CX displays all common resolutions. For it to display proper chroma 4:4:4 at 4k @ 120Hz and any resolution at 60Hz, which is important for reading text, it must be in 'PC' mode. However, 4:4:4 doesn't work on 1080p @ 120Hz. For full bandwidth signals, enable HDMI Ultra HD Deep Color.
According to other owners, the LG CX can't display 4:4:4 properly when sent a 4k @ 120Hz signal from an RTX 3080 over HDMI 2.1. However, we were able to confirm it displays chroma 4:4:4 at that resolution.

The CX only has 40Gbps HDMI 2.1 ports instead of full bandwidth 48Gbps. You can only get 10-bit color at 4K120 4:4:4.

Here's a whole bunch more info that may help: https://i.reddit.com/r/OLED_Gaming/comments/ixhy39/lg_cx_gamingpc_monitor_recommended_settings/

That’s a huge help, thanks DeathKnight. That would probably explain the “Incorrect format” message on the TV.

I’ll dig into that, thanks again

Do you have a card with hdmi 2.1?

I do, on paper anyway. I haven’t run dxdiag yet to verify everything, but I’ll go through that today along with the info/settings DeathKnight posted.

AMD 6000 series or NV 3000 series? It either is.. or isnt.

What model laptop? Did you grab the Lenovo from Microcenter that was being shared on here not too long ago?

ok so I have to duplicate displays to even get a picture on the CX. Extend or show only on 2nd display just gets me flickering and showing HDR not supported.

I've followed multiple guides and the most common issue seems to be the cable, and I bet that's it here too. If I swap out the cable, I'll get the TV option under set resolution, until I shut down, then it reverts to these.

I need to either order online or drive an hour to get another cable....unless I go to Walmart :bleh:

NV settings doesn't give me the TV option either.

Very well could be the cable. I'd grab one off Amazon:

https://www.amazon.com/Club3D-CAC-1...1645550588&sprefix=club3d+hdmi,aps,690&sr=8-3

I like Club3D cables. Really good quality, come with 2 velcro straps for cable management, and get the job done. That's a 6.5ft cable, but they have other lengths.

Quick search on the laptop shows HDMI 2.1 support. There was a possibility that, despite having an RTX3060M, Lenovo didn't put an HDMI 2.1 port on there. From what I can find, they did.

I'm going to order that cable now, thanks for that Nunz

Whether this actually had a 2.1 port vs what the specs say is what I've been trying to nail down...I bet it does - I just want to know for certain.

Thanks man

What happens with the cable that came with the ps5?

That one should definitely be 2.1 compatible.

That's the one I swapped out with, which works until a reboot/shut down. I didn't know if it might be a problem port on the TV either, but I've ruled that out for now.
