Nioh

Is coming to the personal computer.

Nioh, a beloved samurai action game that came out earlier this year for PS4, is coming to PC this November complete with all the downloadable content that publisher Koei Tecmo has released so far.

The PC version will also have “enhanced graphical modes,” Koei Tecmo says.

Nioh came out on February 7 for PS4, and will be out on November 7 for PC, so presumably Sony paid for a nine-month exclusivity window. Kotaku called it “one of the best action titles in years.”

This is gonna be a BAD port. The fact that they still have the different performance modes still in the PC Release is a bad sign.

Great game and worth every penny but I wont double dip (its worth it) till I see how the port turns out.

They certainly have a bad track record.

One can only hope that this will be one of the good ones.

Steam page is up with system requirements.
Nioh confirmed for PC, out November via Steam

Interesting tidbit that hints it might be a straight up 720p port with no in game graphical options (like Dark Souls without Durante's fix):

"The PC version can be played either on Action Mode, which features a stable 60fps, or on Movie Mode, which is described as a cinematic option that can expand the resolution to 4K. Koei Tecmo's note to press suggests you can't deviate from either of these two modes, no matter how powerful your PC." (source)

The action mode was up to 1080p on a ps4 pro, so it's probably not going to be 720p.

My guess is that the game will have dynamic 1080p60 mode and a dynamic 4k30 mode.

Which is pretty dumb considering the power difference between a pc and a ps4/ps4pro.

I have mixed feelings on the game. The gameplay is very good, but I feel like the level design is pretty poor, both visually and functionally.

I'm like halfway into the game and haven't played it in months.

I may double dip if the port is good. I did not purchase a single DLC for the console version so there's a good reason to do it.

Yep.
See the DOA steam forum, for taste of bitterness regarding Tecmo and how it treats the PC users.

Oh and don't forget to look at the cost of the DLC packs.
Fark KT.

Go to any one of the games on this page http://store.steampowered.com/search/?developer=KOEI TECMO GAMES CO., LTD.

Check out the discussion forums and you'll 100% find KT being lazy cnts porting last gen 2D assets or PS Vita assets instead of using the assets from the Latest gen consoles. 30 fps locks. Resolution locks.

Don't even bother their track record precedes them.

Vote with your wallets people I am and have been since the DOA5 bullshit they pulled.

Does anyone play this? I liked Dark Souls so I picked this up a while back. I probably haven't put enough time into it to get skilled enough at fighting. That said, the ability to change stances in the middle of fights seems like a good feature, but in practice it's cumbersome and frankly keeps me from spending more time doing it.

Anyone else? Any tips for more effective fighting? Or maybe I just need to craft some uber weapons to have fun, which is how I eventually got further into Dark Souls.

I played it, got bored after about 30 or so hours. Inventory management was annoying and the environments were all the same. They need to make a Nioh 2 and work on the world building.

I love Dark Souls like games.. but I would give this like a 6/10.. I couldn't bring myself to finish it.

What. The ****. Finally got a chance to give this one a go... and... the game is trash... wtf? what was with all the praise it got? I've died more on the second level of the game than i did in the entirety of dark souls one... or close to it. Like five of those 30 (who knows the actual number) deaths were actually anything to do with me. Half the time attacks just pass right through or over enemies. If the enemy is ever so slightly on a different incline than you most of your attacks cant hit it, even when the weapon physically passes through the enemy.

Repeatedly been killed because the dodge animation wont start. Half the time i dodge right through enemy attacks and take no damage, the other half i press the dodge button and the character just stands there locked in place. At least 3 times now i couldnt even simply walk out of the way of the enemy attack. Im not talking about being stun locked either, im talking full ki and the first enemy attack. Enemy winds up i press dodge at the start of the wind up animation and nothing happens. Next time the wind up starts of simply try and back away or move tot he side and the character just stands there and takes the hit. Like the character is locked into the enemy animation or something.

That doesnt even count the ranged enemies having completely random view ranges. There are bow enemies enemies ive simply stood in front of, but been at a slightly different angle and they completely ignored me, other ones ive been behind walls or buildings out of actual weapon range and they start tracking me.

and thats just the **** that happened in the last ten minutes so its fresh on mind ****ing mind... WTF!!!
