My driveway has changed...

Washed and ceramic waxed the car today using Turtle Wax ceramic wax. What a beauty.

I see a bunch of the Mazda SUVs in Soul Red Crystal and its definitely a nice color. I like the deep nature of it.

Got the original window sticker from Mazda, car doesn't have the package that gives you the LSD, so I'm assembling that myself. Ordered the LSD center section and OEM strut bar that come in the GT-S package, with the goal of staying in the CS autocross class.

This car has some interesting cupholders. They're removeable, and there are different locations in the car that they can be plugged into. They're a little flimsy, so I've resolved to not have any cups without secure lids in the car. Here's a pic of the cupholders behind the arm rest:

And here's the one on the dash:

There's not much of a spot to place a phone in the dash, and the one spot that is there is too shallow for my OnePlus 8T, and also gets way too hot from transmission/exhaust heat, which overheats my phone, so I 3d printed a tray that plugs into the dashboard cupholder. Pic:

Printed on my Prusa i3 MK3S with a 0.6mm nozzle, I decided to push the machine on this print and went with 0.45mm layer heights, shaving the print time from nearly 13hrs to 10hrs. The only problem with those settings is the cracking you can see on the sides in the middle, but I like this tray enough I may go ahead and finish sand it, fill the cracks with superglue, and paint it. This piece is printed in ASA.

Never a fan of plastic pieces that are flimsy, but I guess the alternative is something metal, and that would be weird to have a metal cup holder lol.

Dude you have to print a new license plate frame next. That car is a gleaming work of art. A dealer's plate frame on that is criminal.

I'm actually likely just going to put a silicone "frame" on, so it doesn't rub through the paint on the bumper. Not really bothering with it right now till the license plate comes in.

Gonna be a busy weekend. Friday I get my track tires put on my spare wheels, Saturday morning I get the UV protective film put on the front windshield, then when I get home in the afternoon I'll be mounting the track tires and installing the OEM strut bar setup in prep for autocross on Saturday.

Thanks :D Thought you might hate it given previous stances on convertibles  Though the RF is a different breed from a standard convertible.

nah not at all -- those little cars are so fun to drive, difficult to appreciate unless you have driven one.

Installed my dual dash cam today, though won't mount the front windshield cam till tomorrow after I get the UV film installed on the front windshield.

Also mounted my track wheels. These are wrapped in Bridgestone RE71R's, 215/45R17.

Love how it looks with black wheels, they really work for the color.

Here's a quick video of some turns I took after putting the tires on. The grip on them is unreal, I wouldn't be surprised if I lift a tire before I lose traction.

I love that Black/Grey look.

Glad you got a toy you're really enjoying :)

UV film installed first thing this morning, my Weathertech sun shade is delivering today. Should help a ton with the SMB3 Angry Sun we have here in Texas.
