How can i play star trek elite force 2 in widescreen?

Cullen, Rayburn, Narz, Trebek

Has anyone gotten this to work correctly for 4k?

I can get 1080p or 1440p to work no problem, but 4k pans the monitor at 4 times the size. Googled for a couple hours and nothing.

It's a Quake3 engine game right? I wonder if it's possible to run it through ioquake3 ?

I'll see if I can find out.

This, put in .cfg file with your name in the "base" folder.

Doesn't span anymore, but it goes back to 800x600.

r_customwidth "3840"
r_customheight "2160"
r_mode "-1"
vid_restart

This exact code works for 1440p no problem.

So I think I have it figured out, for anyone that comes across this thread in the future:

It's the video memory pool. The max it can be set to is 128MB, which fits a single 1440p frame, but does not fit a 4k frame. Any attempts to override the video memory size defaults back to 128MB.

Might be able to use dgVoodoo to wrap the render to DX11/12 and then 4k may work?

https://www.nexusmods.com/startrekeliteforceII/mods/440

This mod instructions are primarily about getting it wrapped so it can then use reshade. But the initial parts used to get it wrapped using dgVoodoo may also work just for getting it to run at a higher resolution.

GoG has it.

Really? Okay, thanks . I've seen this sell on ebay for over $100 before. This game has held up exceptionally well regarding graphics and run's excellent. Pushed the resolution to 2k. I was going to install the hd textures mod but imo the game doesn't need them.

I bought it from there as well as EF1 plus Armada 1 and 2.

There's a right res patch for EF1 that looks really good. As you said, EF2 don't really need it.

Did wrapping to another DX version work to get it up to 4k?

Yes, I just tried it now. It works if you set the config file for 3840x2160 as well.

However, now I'm trying to solve why FPS is maxing out in the 90s with the refresh at 144.
