Gaming at Max Settings is Really Dumb

Yeah, ok.... :bleh:

I'm :masterrace: , only way I game at.

Yeah ok but then there's hierarchies even within :masterrace:, unless :masterrace: suddenly means last generation GPU's only.
On my rig I find that on demanding titles there are usually a couple of settings (RTX notwithstanding) that can be turned down from ultra and make the game playable.

That thread title should be netting you a perma ban from Rage3D but weak ass moderators these days and their BLM and Woke ideology is really making companies like Ubisoft proud. Your veterans are crying....

I'll see myself out.

Before you get kicked out, good idea. :bleh: :hmm:

Don’t be a poor gay. Crank that shits up.

Poor gay + no GPU's available, sucks man

Thread title could indeed use some adjustments.
Must always strive for max settings!

Very true, just trolling. :D

;)

And I should add that those are usually settings that don't cause any visible IQ degradation, like certain types of shadows, dof, ao (to some degree), particles and so on.
As an example, RDR2 can turn from jittery to butter-smooth with hardly any discernible difference by turning down the proper advanced graphic settings.
But having ultra-settings is shweet. I love running ultra when I can
Examples for me are No Man's Sky and Death Stranding, everything pumped@3440x1440 and not a single hitch. With a sprinkle of third party filtering, ultra settings can grant you true gaming nirvana 8-)

That title is copy paste from the youtube title of the video itself :)
I realized that i may need my own powerplant for a 3080ti ... only 620watt :P

Video pretty much nails it. This is why there are mountains of guides and comparison videos/screenshots out there on game settings so you can dial in the performance vs visuals to your liking :)

Huh and you said you didn't want to game at 1440p with a mid range card because it maybe somegames you had to turn the settings down from Ultra to high even though the visual difference was 1%...

HOW THE TIDES TURN. :bleh:

I still want to play as ultra as possible but not willing to pay 3000$.I can receive a 3090 as a gift. :P
I think the next gen gpu's in 2022 will be very intersting.

Well some times it is also completely not worth it. Take the new remaster of Myst for instance. To max it out, you really need to turn on RT, which takes a HUGE performance hit for a visual boost that is really really not worth it.

you can see comparison shots at DSOGaming - here

Looks like a real gpu could handle it though, a minimum fps of 57 at 4k isn't that bad.

Especially for the game type, hell 30fps is enough because it's a slow puzzler. But it doesn't matter, as the visual bump is pointless.

Speaking of gaming at max settings. I have a 4k120 TV and I'm wondering if anyone has suggested settings for Cyberpunk? I'd like to start playing the game at 4k but I know it won't be possible to enable everything at max even if I keep ray tracing disabled. I haven't found any good guides out there for this yet and I've googled. :(

Like I don't get how you don't want to build a pc for balls to wall or nothing. I mean.... To me, it makes more sense to buy a console for that for half the price if you can't afford to make a pc like that. Pc is about getting max power, like why would you ever settle for less?

That's like settling for KAC's maids but really wanting a lego built gpu mining array. It just don't make sense.....
